Atticus' Point of View
"Do you still remember the words I told you before I left?" I asked her while walking and sight-seeing the flowers in her garden. Maybe she has forgotten and so I exclaimed.
"I promised I'll marry you when I come back."
"You promised that when you come back, you will marry me." I looked into her with great surprise and she only gave me a smile. So, she remembered?
"You still remember then?" I added while picking out the box from my pocket.
Before surprising her, I told myself that if she didn't remember my promise, I won't give her the ring. But today, it feels like the heavens are helping me to take the Princess hand.
"We're still too young, aren't we? But I hope at the right time, you'll accept my love for you Aisla." I explained and put the ring on her palm and closed it.
*the next day
"Atticus? My apologies for not waking up early." Aisla greeted me, while wiping her eyes.
"Ah." I grab her hand as she almost falls. She really looks tired but still the prettiest. I chuckled.
"I'm really sorry, I still feel sleepy though." she replied.
"You should rest again, your majesty." I told her but she refused.
"Where are we going?" she added, now walking straight.
"It's a surprise. Would you close your eyes?" She closed her eyes and help her walk.
"Here we go. Now open your eyes." I said, confidently giving her my surprise.
"Woah. Where are we?" she exclaimed and was surprisingly admiring the view.
"This is the island we used to go to when we were young. It's not far from the palace and also the reason for your beautiful name." I explained to her while she kept admiring the view from the sea.
"Can we go there? Please?" she begged me to and there again I lost from those innocent eyes.
"Your Majesty, grab my hand, you may fall-" Oh God. She really lost her balance and fell.
"I'm fine HAHAHAHA." she replied. I breathed heavily and followed her. As always she's still the clumsiest person I've ever known.
"It's so pretty out here, isn't it?" She looked at me and so I nodded.
You're the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I whispered and stared at her.
"Look, the wave is following me. Hihihi. " she added. Those lines were the same as before.
"Look Atticus, the wave is following me. Follow them too!"
"Ayi, don't come near there!"
You still haven't changed Ayi.
"Ayi?" After reminiscing from the past I lost her.
"Aisla? Aisla!" I kept running but I felt a hand pointing to my shoulders. I turned around and saw Aisla.
"What do you think you're doing? I thought I almost lost you!" I shouted but she just laughed and run.
"Catch me then." She ran and I followed her.
"Ayi, wait." She was just too fast and she's dancing in the middle of the ocean. God, this girl.
"Ayi, come on. You're too fast." she giggles.
"It's your fault Ticus. HAHAHAHAHA." I just stared at her while the words she just said stuck in my mind. She called me by my pen name. Now I know that, the bond we have together is back.
