Tamaki called ahead to the butcher to have his cut of pork ready so he could grab it tonight for his special dinner with Y/N. He drove to his old dorm, a pep in his step as he walked into the building. Mirio was unfortunately in class during this time, so he couldn't help Tamaki finish packing.

He sighed, thinking this to be a little miracle. As much as he loved Mirio, he wasn't the best at packing and organizing. And Tamaki has his own system when it comes to packing his things. Knowing Mirio it would take longer because he would be pulling out random knick knacks and reminding Tamaki of when they were younger. Like with Tamaki's old butterfree plushy. He was a fan of butterflies since he was a kid, Mirio being the first to notice that. And for his ninth birthday Mirio gifted him that same butterfree. He's kept it ever since, despite his parent's claim that it was childish.

Tamaki delicately packed his butterfree into his backpack before grabbing more items for his suitcase and a trashbag for miscellaneous items that he'll decide whether or not to throw away or keep. He kept on packing, listening to favorite tunes, as the time went by.

Eventually as sun began to set, faster each day due to the winter months, Mirio returned. He smiled seeing Tamaki but was a bit puzzled at seeing the full suitcase and half empty closet they shared.

"Hey Tam Tam! Er, what's with the stuff man?"

"Hey Mirio, well...." Tamaki couldn't hide his little grin as he told him how Y/N told him to grab his things so they can fully move in together. And to not worry because Tamaki's scholarship covered his dorm so Mirio could have the whole place to himself and feel more comfortable. Tamaki couldn't stop smiling at his fortune of having such a wonderful girlfriend. Even though she was having a rough few weeks she still took time to tell him she wants to live together with him. He felt like he was floating on a cloud at her request. And to thank her he was going to prepare a special feast, just for her.

"That's amazing Tam Tam! Go live your dream you little romeo!" He said before pulling him into an embrace. His smile faltered though, at the thought of not living with his best buddy.

"I gotta say though, I'm gonna miss you Tam Tam." He said quietly. Tamaki pulled away from the hug to look at his dear best friend.

"Mirio, we can still hang out! And you can come over anytime! In fact, how about we all have dinner together? I was going to make a feast for Y/N, but now that I thinm about it's gonna be too much food for just the two of us. So will you come?"

Mirio couldn't help but smile again. His childhood friend just said a whole paragraph without stuttering. And he took initiative to invite HIM to hang out. He sighed happily before pulling Tamaki into another bear hug. His buddy really is growing up.

"Awesome! I'll be there! Just tell me what time and I'll be there to eat all the food!"

Tamaki just smiled as he pulled away from the hug to grab his things. "How about you spend the night? It's kinda dangerous to go out at night. I do have to stop at the butcher's though..."

"Go to the butcher's then! Then I can help you carry this stuff when you come back to pick me up?"

Tamaki smiled and nodded. He grabbed his backpack and headed out, leaving the suitcase and trashbag behind as he head for the butcher's.

He purchased the meat, though with a stutter here and there, and headed back to his old dorm. He called ahead to let Mirio know but was surprised to see he didn't answer. He probably left his phone on silent again. As he parked by the dorm building, he thought of calling Y/N to let her know Mirio was coming, or even asking if it was okay he came. But he decided to surprise her instead. She hasn't seen or texted any of her friends since that day. And she's been so glum since then. And Mirio is practically a portable ray of sunshine. Surely that shoumd help cheer her up right. At least he hoped having Mirio over for dinner would cheer them all up.

As he left his car he thought of inviting Nejire but remembered her parents took her out of school because of the dangers. Not that he didn't understand, he just missed hanging out with her as well. She could be pushy sometimes but she always meant well, trying to push him out of his comfort zone.

He took the elevator up to the third floor, silently thinking how this might be the last time he hears the annoying elevator music. As he walked out he thought how this might be the last time he sees this ugly brown carpet that covered the hallways. The ugly patch in the corner that was never fully cleaned from the chewing gum stuck there, the mysterious black patch on one side that students just decided to not step on because lord knows what made that stain that left it blacker than any coffee, and of course, the random dip on the floor that always made freshmen trip.

Footsteps brought Tamaki out of his thoughts. Approaching footsteps got louder and louder as Tamaki looked up. A hooded figure ran past him, knocking him to the ground. The mysterious figure ran off in a black jacket, the hood covering their face. Before Tamaki could even yell at the person, something else had caught his interest.

A fresh stain on the carpet. Left by the intruder. Tamaki, against his better judgement, touched it. It was an strange color against the carpet. It didn't immediatly blend in. It looked sort of red. He lightly swiped his finger against it. And he's cut enough meats to know why it looked that color red on his finger. Blood. He began to breathe heavy. He wobbled as he stood up, unsure of what to do next. That person who ran...were they perhaps...

Tamaki trembled alone in the hallway as he thought of what to do. The only good idea was to tell Mirio. Mirio always knows what to do. He ran to his room to find Mirio. Surely he would know if they should call the police, an ambulance, or maybe both. But as soon as Tamaki reached his room he halted.

The door was already opened.

The light was still on.

Tamaki was frozen. He saw the door was slightly ajar, something he and Mirio never do. The freshmen were pranksters so they made sure to always lock their door. His legs felt like they were made of iron. They wouldn't budge, no matter how hard he tried. His hand shook, too afraid of what he may see. He slowly raise his hand to the doorknob, his blood stained finger staining it as he pushed the door open.

There was Mirio. Most of him anyways.

The floor of the room was covered in blood, caking the bedsheets as well. His back was sliced open, his entire left leg was practically left in pure bone, and his neck was cut by the jugular.

Tamaki's whole body trembled at the sight of his best friend. He fell to his knees as he let out a blood curdling scream so loud the entire dorm building as alerted. They all ran to the noise and found poor Tamaki now also with his friend's blood on him as he continued to scream as he threw himself to the ground, inconsolable. The neighbors called the police and ambulance to help. But no one was able to calm down Tamaki.

Eventually when the police arrived they were able to get Tamaki's phone and called Y/N to alert her of what happened.
