"Well that was exciting." Said Mina as she watched the scene play out.
"Thank you Tamaki, you saved me." You said, still surprised at how quickly he reacted and how strong he was. He turned away, not wanting to show his face from how hard he was blushing.
"I-It was nothing." He said before checking his phone for a text from Mirio.
"Well still, thank you." You said.
"You're a hero!" Yelled Ochako as she moved closer to you two. Tamaki's face slowly turned redder as the rest of the group tried to congratulate him. He tried to hide and make himself smaller from all the attention. You felt bad and did some quick thinking.
"Hey guys! I think Kirishima was by the baseball aisle!"
The group started moving away to where you said. As they left you glanced at Tamaki. Tamaki was still facing away from you. You sighed as you gently tapped his shoulder.
"You okay Tamaki? They left so you can relax now."
"I'm sorry, I must be embarassing. I just....don't like being the center of attention."
"You're not embarassing Tamaki. Do you have some social anxiety?" He nodded, still looking away from you.
"Oh okay, that's fine. It must have been tough coming with us to the mall then. Thank you for coming with us Tamaki."
He slowly turned to face you. "I can go to public places, it just can be a little draining."
"I get that. That's why I was planning on heading home a little early. It can be draining when I'm around a lot of new people too." He looked at you curiously, analyzing everything you said.
"Really?"
"Yeah, my last 2 years I was studying so much I didn't make any friends. The only reason I have so many now is because of Tsu. If not for her I'd probably be at home in my pajamas watching "whose line" reruns." Tamaki let out a laugh.
"I love that show. It always cheers me up."
"Me too! What else cheers you up?"
"Well, sitting in a field, watching Disney movies, and cooking."
"I love all those too! Oh that's right Mirio did tell me you're a culinary major."
"Yeah, it's-"
"Y/N we did not find Kirishima there." Said Tenya as he and the group came back.
"He wasn't? That's weird. I thought I saw him there." You said, lying through your teeth.
"Mirio answered." Said Tamaki. "He said they were at checkout." The group went together to meet up with them before heading to the food court for a meal.
As the group dispersed to pick out their favorite food, you noticed Tamaki was still standing next to you. He seemed perplexed by the options. To be fair you were also indecisive about what to eat since there were so many options.
"Any idea what'd you like to eat Tamaki?"
"Um, not sure."
"Yeah, I'm not to sure what to eat either."
"I'm..craving pasta."
"Oh that sounds good! But the only pasta place is Sbarro, and it's only spaghetti."
"I could whip up a quick pesto pasta."
"Ooh what's that?"
"It's a simple pasta with basil, cheese, and a few other things."
"It sounds delicious! Now I'm craving it too." You said with a laugh. He thought hard about something before quietly saying:
"I could make it for you, if you'd like."
"Oh I wouldn't wanna bother you Tamaki. I can just eat what's around here."
"W-We could also watch 'Whose Line' while eating." You eyes meet his as you slowly smile. A small flush of pink forms on your cheeks as you nod and accept his offer. He lets out a soft smile. As you go to tell Tsu you'll be heading out, you don't see Tamaki let out a huge breath of relief as he texts Mirio quickly.
Psst
Yeah?
I'm going to make a meal
for Y/N, we're heading out.You sly fox!
Mirio!
Bring a condom!
MIRIO!!!
Jk, have fun!
Tamaki waited for you as you guys headed to your car. You both agreed to grab the ingredients before going to your apartment since you have an actual kitchen to cook in. He brought in the bags as you unlocked the door. He set down the bags and was surprised at a few of the decorations of the apartment.
"Tsu likes frogs." You explained, eyeing the small frog ceramics around the abode. He quietly sad an 'oh' before placing the ingredients on the counter. You asked if he would like some help in cooking but he said he likes cooking on his own. You nod in understanding and decide to get the table while he cooks. You grab a pair of silverware and cups for the table while he finely minces the garlic and basil. You watch him from a distance as he comes alive from his cooking. He expertly sautees the onions and garlic while the pasta is boiling. He blends the ingredients to make his famous pesto, and the smell just wafts around the dining room. It smells so good you couldn't help that your stomach grumbled. He looked at you and smiled, happy to see such positive reaction from you. You laugh nervously before you go back to watching him work like a pro in the kitchen. When the food is done he serves it ever so carefully on the plates. He then brings you your meal as he sits across from you. Your eyes widen at how amazing it looks. Even the presentation is restaurant worthy.
"It looks amazing!"
"Thank you, I hope you enjoy it." You take a quick picture of the meal before taking a bite. It was heavenly. You swallowed before saying:
"It tastes so good! It's definitely restaurant worthy!" He smiled sheepishly."
"I'd like to have my own restaurant one day."
"That would be a restaurant I'd love to visit if you make dishes like these." He laughed a little at your kind words.
"I still have a long way to go."
"Well you've definitely got a bright future Tamaki." He thanked you before you two ate your meals in pleasant silence.
