You bolted to the school, driving much too fast than what you usually would have. The police mentioned that it was Tamaki who had found Mirio in that....condition. They didn't specify but from the grim responses it sounds like Mirio met the same fate as the others.
You leaped out of your car to the dorm building, racing to the elevator. As the elevator went up, you remembered what else you heard on that call. Tamaki was sobbing relentlessly nearby. It was a raw and anguished scream he let out that had you in your car before you even hung up on the cop. The elevator door opening is what shook you from your thoughts. You took one step out and saw the police tape everywhere. Even before reaching their room. You showed the nearby officer your I.D to show you were the person they called. They let you through to where Tamaki was. The officer escorting you mentioned how she had to drag Tamaki away from the scene of the crime because he kept refusing to leave his friend.
Your heart shattered as you saw Tamaki. So small, kneeling on the floor, his head down as his whole body rattled from his cries. At that moment, every suspicion of Tamaki was gone. He looks so defeated, laying there as his eyes were bloodshot from his tears; his voice hoarse from his screams, and his trembling body quaking at what happened. You gently kneeled close to him, careful to not frighten him.
"Tama?" You said as you gently placed a hand on his leg. His head shot, eyes in your direction. He was like a deer in headlights, he couldn't move except by trembling. Your heart sank as he looked like his eyes were glossed over, not even realizing who was speaking to him.
"T-Tama, it's Y/N. I'm here baby." You said softly as you lightly rubbed his leg to get his attention. He blinked a few times, before you pulled him into an embrace.
"I'm so sorry honey, I'm so sorry." You whispered as you rubbed his back. He was tense in your arms, still in shock over the events. The officer who escorted you got your attention, probably to ask who is Tamaki and how you know him.
"Tama, I have to talk to the officer now. I'll be right back okay?" You go to stand only to feel his arms squeeze you tight. His head is still buried by your shoulder, his arms shaking as he has you close to him.
"P-please Bunny, don't leave m-me. D-Don't leave me too." Your heart was heavy at his reaction. You decided to stay with him, rubbing his back again to try and soothe him a bit. The officer decided to squat next to you so you could answer their questions. You nodded and answered their questions, handing your ID as well so they would have your information. Eventually more officers arrived to close off the entire building for the detective and higher ups to arrive. You were escorted back to the elevator with the police; Tamaki eventually moved when you said you were taking him back home with you. He was too exhausted to keep arguing anyways. You also handed the police his information since he did most likely see the killer. They said he would have to go to the police department tomorrow morning for an interrogation. You nodded as you guided Tamaki out of the building to your car. He slumped in his seat as you buckled him in.
As you drove to your apartment, not a sound came from Tamaki. He was silent as tears stained his tired face. You gripped the steering wheel, trying to remain calm. A murder happened, and this time you had to be strong, for Tamaki. He could barely stand without someone to lean onto. His best friend is gone. You are all he has left here, and you have to be tough. So you let out a deep sigh as you pull in to your apartment building.
Once inside, you lead him into your bathroom. His clothes were still covered in blood, and his cheek as well. You take off his clothes for him and bag them, in case police asked for it as evidence. You take your clothes off as well and turn on the shower for you both. You have him step in first before you, letting the warm water clean the blood off of him. Afterward you step in the shower and clean him up. You gently washed his hair, rubbed his chest and back with soap, and rinsed him off before you wrapped him in a warm towel. You wrapped your body in a towel before leading him to the bedroom. Tamaki was numb. He was exhausted, depressed, and all out of tears for the moment.
After changing into your nightgown you held his hand gently to get his attention.
"Tama?" You whispered.
"Would you like some hot cocoa or any food?" It was currently nighttime and the fancy feast Tamaki had promised went obviously down the drain because of today's events.
He didn't give an answer, but his stomach did. It grumbled at the mention of food. You lightly rubbed his hand before kissing his forehead.
"Tama, I'm going to make you some food baby. Did you want to nap here or did you want to come with me?"
He quickly gripped your hand, his voice still remaining silent. You nodded before helping him up. He walked behind you as you went to make a quick dinner for you both. There was leftover chicken so you'd chop that up with some vegetables and make a quick fried rice.
With Tamaki holding onto you every step of the way. After the meal he barely touched, you both climbed into bed together, his face buried in your chest as you played gently with his hair as he whimpered. He cried quietly as he fell asleep, trembling until he was in a deep sleep.
