A Shy Kiss

Chapter 18

The classes were silent that day, the professors and students alike just petrified of the news. Many professors tried to continue with their lectures to quiet the students, but to no avail. The students were buzzing and a bundle of nerves as they alerted their friends and family of the news.

The article spoke of a body that was found on campus. A certain Neito Monoma, sophmore college student. The 'corpse' in question was mostly bone. This body was found with the head intact, but the rest of the body was cut up and several pieces of meat were missing. Police are saying the cuts and slice marks do not belong to an animal and in fact belong to a knife cut. This was a person. The killer is a person. The group chat blew up on your phone as the group began to panic once again.

The entire science building was closed off due to the building being where the crime scene took place. Ochako's classes were cancelled and she stayed away from campus for the rest of the day. Tsu had her stay at the apartment for the day. Once your class was done you stumbled to the culinary building to find Tamaki. The culinary building was not too far from the science building so lord knows how Tama is taking the news.

It turns out Tamaki was walking towards you, his class ending a bit before yours. He held you tight in his arms as he whispered "you heard the news bunny?" You simply nodded your head as he held you tighter. He walked with you to the parking lot so you can get in your car. You both sat in the car for a minute, not having the strength to even turn on the car. You take a shaky deep breath before turning on the car and heading out.

Monoma wasn't a great person. He was annoying, intrusive, and to be frank a bit of a jerk to some people. But you both shared a few classes so you put up with him. He somehow got a hold of your phone number one day and kept trying to talk to you, invite you to places. You were direct in telling him how you were in a relationship and weren't at all interested in any of Monoma's advances. He wasn't a great guy. But he wasn't a bad person. He respected professors and was good in his major. And to find out that poor guy was cut up and....brutally murdered. This whole nightmare was just hitting too close to you.

You arrive at your apartment where you're surprised to see everyone in group. They were silent as you and Tamaki walked in.

"What's all of this?" You asked, you and Tamaki dropping off your bags on the side of the door.

"Tsu told us you knew Monoma. More than any of us. We thought you could use some company." Said Eijiro.

"Plus..." added Ochako. "None of us really want to be alone right now." You nodded your head in understanding. Momo brought over tea with lemon and honey and Iida brought a few pizzas for everyone.

"I am not fond of unhealthy food, but in this case, I believe it to be well deserved." He said as he passed around plates. The group was silent, slowly passing plates and eating. Even Ochako grimaced at the sight. Her unwavering smile long gone, nothing left but worry lines on her eyebrows.

"I...I have some news from my brother." Everyone looked up at him, waiting for the news. You look over and see Eijiro trembling in anticipation.

"And?" Eijiro said, egging him on.

"The first body, is of a male. But it does not fit the description of Bakugo." Everyone sighed in relief at the news. Tamaki tightened his grip on your hand at hearing the news.

"I'm so glad." He quietly mentioned. The group seemed a little brighter at hearing the news, eating their pizza with more enthusiasm as the afternoon passed.
