Kirishima POV

Denki is still nowhere to be found halfway through the lunch period. I pull out my phone and check to see if he's answered any of my text messages. He hasn't. Where could he have gone? He seemed to be in a rush when he bolted out of the classroom.

I don't know why, but I have a bad feeling about this.

It doesn't help that I'm playing the fifth wheel at my lunch table right now. Mina's practically sitting in Sero's lap, as per usual. To round it out, Bakugou and Todoroki are sitting to my left. Now that they're an official couple, they sit at the same lunch table. Of course there's no way that Bakugou will ever willingly sit at the same table as Midoriya or any of Todoroki's other friends, so Todoroki sits with us, which is fine. Todoroki's a cool guy and he makes Bakugou happy which is all that matters. But I'd feel a little less awkward if Denki were here so I'm not the only single one at this table.

"Where is he?" I say.

"I'm sure he's fine," Sero says.

"I don't know," Mina cuts in. "Denki never skips lunch. It's his favorite class of the day."

Todoroki stops eating his soba. "Maybe he got caught up with something."

"Maybe," I mumble.

I pick at my food, not particularly interested in anything on the tray. The conversation at the table carries on without me. Though, to be fair, it's really just Sero and Mina talking. Bakugou and Todoroki are too busy sneaking glances at each other and smiling, probably even playing footsies under the table. This may be the first time in my life that I wish I had a significant other, if for nothing else than to make this situation a little less uncomfortable.

But then, life sparks back into me as Denki finally enters the cafeteria. A smile slowly tugs at my lips as he walks over. Though once he's close enough for me to register his expression, my smile drops.

I have no idea where he's been, or what he's been doing, but I do know one thing. Whatever just went down with him now has him furious.

He stomps over to our table, stopping once he's standing behind Bakugou and Todoroki. He shoots a glare at Bakugou, nostrils flaring. I didn't even know it was possible for Denki to look so heated.

"Get up," he orders.

Bakugou turns around with a raised brow. "The hell?"

"GET UP!" he yells. "NOW!"

Bakugou shoots a confused look at Todoroki, then at me, but he eventually stands up. When he does, however, Denki immediately shoves him. Denki's not strong enough to knock Bakugou off his feet or anything, but Bakugou stumbles backward a bit since he's caught off guard.

"What's your problem?" Bakugou says. He doesn't attempt to hit back. I think he's still confused about this entire situation, as are the rest of us sitting here.

"We're fighting," Denki replies, getting into a proper stance. "Right now. No quirks, just our fists."

He swings at Bakugou but misses. Bakugou, still appearing lost as ever, just holds his hands in front of his face in case Denki attempts to strike him again. It's a smart move, because Denki lunges forward at him, but is intercepted by Todoroki.

Pretty soon a good amount of the cafeteria crowd is watching. Todoroki shields Bakugou from Denki while I jump up to hold Denki back. Sero grabs Mina and escorts her to a different table so she's safe from harm.

I hug Denki from behind, making him unable to use his arms. He jumps a few times to kick the air, but stops when he realizes he'll only kick Todoroki and not Bakugou if he keeps it up.
