Who Would Have Known

She seemed fine on the outside,
So happy and full of life.
She was always so energetic,
Seemingly on the move constantly.
So who would have known
That she was dying on the inside
And on the outside
And no matter how hard she tried,
No matter how much she prayed
Or how many foreign substances doctors injected into he body,
She couldn't stop it.
She'd lost the fight.
And so when she passed and people mourned,
They wondered what they could have done to make a difference.
