It was Saturday morning. The apartment was calm, and the sun shone through the light-coloured room's curtains. (Y/ h/c) hair was spread out over the pillow, covering its pink colour. The clock hadn't rung, and the third year was still sleeping at ten o'clock.
The silence was brutally interrupted as her phone rang on her nightstand. It had rung two times before the girl had managed to crawl close enough to reach the device and lay down as she answered. "Hello?" Her morning voice was slightly rasped, giving away her state.
"Um, hi, y/n." It was unusual for her little sister to call and sound unsure unless she asked for something. "I was wondering, only if you want, of course, if you could come to school with my bag?" The elder sister rubbed the sleep out of her eyes and sat up. "Your bag? School?" Her feet touched the chilled floors and retracted themselves under the covers again. "Isn't it Saturday? What are you doing at school?" Her sister was quiet for some time before replying, "I've joined the volleyball team as a manager."
She was calm and quick, like she wasn't sure she wanted her elder sister to hear her.
"You have?" Her body strolled out to the hallway and to the bathroom. "Yes." The girl placed her phone on the sink and looked at herself in the mirror. It was clear she hadn't gotten her eight hours of sleep yet. "Sure, where is it?" After a halfhearted explanation and thanks, she hung up and started getting ready for her day.
The (Y/h/c) put her hair up in a high ponytail with two pieces in front of her face to frame her features. She put on a pair of blue jeans and a long sleeve top with a slight v-split in the middle to show off her collarbones. She usually wouldn't use makeup outside of school, but she looked like a dead fish and decided to put on some to feel better.
"Good morning, sweetie." Her mother sat in the living room drawing on a tablet. "Morning." The kitchen was small, but it worked fine when there were only two simultaneously. "Why are you up so early?" It was clear that their mother was used to having her eldest stumble out from her cave later than today, but she laughed it off. "Hitoka asked me if I could come to school with some stuff she forgot." Their mother was always elegant and beautiful; at least that's what her daughters thought. Even now, she was sitting on the couch dressed in a skirt and blouse like she was going to a meeting anytime soon. It was she who had taught y/n how to do her makeup, but she didn't use as much as her mother.
Her mother hummed in response.
"Did you know she has become the volleyball team's manager?" Y/n asked with a toast hanging in her hand. She used to worry that Hitoka was too shy and nervous about finding anything she liked to do, so waking up to this news made her slightly happy. "Yes, she told me some days ago. I think she gets along with the team very well." Their mother shared the same thought as y/n. Hitoka had found a place to fit in.
"I'm off!" Madoka waved at her daughter as she walked out the door. Y/n was looking forward to seeing how her sister behaved with the boys. Out of all the things Hitoka was afraid of, boys were high on the ranking.
- Y/n pov –
I closed the car door after positioning myself in the seat and placed Hitoka's bag on the seat beside me. It wasn't a long way to school, but I liked having the chance to drive whenever I wanted to.
I parked the car and made my way towards the gym. The closer I got, the clearer the sound of shoes and balls smashing on the floor was heard. I peeked through the open door curiously. Some boys were running around trying to catch the other balls while others were practising two and two. I looked over to the side of the court and spotted my sister with another pretty girl. Aw, she looks so cute.
I pushed the door wider before calling out to her.
"Hitoka!"
