"What?"
"You're touching me."
His brows raised and then he hurriedly moved away from me. "I'm so sorry! I would never do it if I knew you didn't like it!" His face turned red while his back was pressed against the wall. "No, no, no! I don't dislike it!"
"Then why did you say it like that?!"
"Because I've been trying to not touch you!"
"Why?!"
"Because I thought you might not like it!"
"Why wouldn't I like it?"
I searched in my memory for signs that he might have shown that he didn't like to be touched, but I couldn't find any. Why was I worried about that in the first place?
"I.. I don't know. I guess I just made it up in my head."
Daichi sighted and moved away from the wall. He positioned himself beside me again, gazing at my thoughtful expression. "I liked you touching me." My eyes instantly found his. "It made me feel, I don't know, that you liked me better than the others?"
His gaze went to the floor, not wanting to see my reaction. Even though he didn't look at me, I could see he was waiting for an answer. "I don't like you more than the others." His brows furrowed a bit, but I placed my hand on his shoulder and stroked it down his arm. "I like you differently, then the others." The different browns in his eyes were clear as day as he stared at me.
I could see the gears in his head rolling as he thought of his next move. But he didn't have to think much as we both slowly moved closer. His eyes moved down to my lips as we came closer, and I could feel his breath on my face.
"Y/n are you staying the night?" His mom burst through the door, and we pulled away quickly.
"Oh my, did I interrupt something?" She wiggled her eyebrows from where she stood by the door. "So, does that mean you'll sleep here tonight?"
"Mom!" Daichi yelled while I laughed. "I'm afraid I'm expected back home." I stood up from the floor and straightened my skirt. "I think its time to head home, but as always, thanks for the offer." She sighted but smiled, nonetheless. They both followed me to the door and watched me slip my shoes on.
His mother gave me a hug before departing to the kitchen, letting us have some alone time.
"I think its going well between your mom and I. Maybe I'll move in soon."
He chuckled low as he looked at me with his hands in his pockets. "We have a practice game tomorrow, and I was hoping you would watch?" My eyes followed the slight tint in his cheeks. His shoulders were pushed high, and I figured he must be nervous asking. "Of course, I'll watch!" A big smile took over his face and I couldn't help myself.
I strolled over to him and as he opened his eyes, I placed my hand on his jaw as I tiptoed and placed a small kiss on his cheek.
"See you tomorrow captain."
The last thing I saw before closing the door was his face as red as a tomato and smoke flying out of his ears.
The next day went as usual with a still embarrassed Daichi. He sneaked a few glances at me throughout classes, but when I caught him, he would turn red and not look at me until the next class. I felt like we were kids who figured they have a crush on each other and flirted on a long distance. It was cute though. I liked knowing that he watched me.
We came to lunch and the guys were so excited for the practice game later. The brown head sat beside me as usual, but he seemed much more aware of our thighs touching as we sat. "Are you okay Daichi? You look stressed." Nishinoya pointed out as he ate. "Yeah, yeah I'm fine!"
Nishinoya brushed it off and continued to rumble about the game. Daichi fiddled with his fingers in his lap, so I moved a hand over to his under the table. His eyes hurriedly stared at me as I rubbed my thumb over his knuckles and continued to eat with the other hand. After a while he calmed down and I felt him play with my fingers until the bell went off.
