We used a good amount of time around the dinner table as we talked. I felt welcomed at his house, and his mother was the sweetest thing I had met. My own mother was strict, but she loved us very much. Hitoka had a harder time dealing with moms' straight forwardness, but she's gotten tougher.

I helped with cleaning off the table before we went to Daichi's room to do some homework.

"What homework do you have left?" He sat down on the floor by his bed, leaning on it.

"I only got math, so I can help you with English first?" He agreed and the study session began. We helped each other, but to be honest, it was way harder for him to help me with math than it was for me to help him with English. As we both worked in silence, I stroked my hands up and down my calves. I had shaven the day before and it was too good to not touch.

"You ready for some math?" The famous math grunt escaped me as I laid flat on the floor. "Oh, come on. You've become much better!" He stood up and came over to me to try dragging my up from the ground. "I'm only good as long as you explain it to me." I unwillingly sat up as he pulled my arms and sat down beside me. "Then I'll explain it to you again." He was much closer than I thought when I gazed over to him.

My enthusiasm sunk through the floor, and I was once again lying down. "I don't get it!" I placed my arm over my eyes, overly frustrated and scared I might start crying. All I heard was Daichi sighting and moving beside me. "It's okay. You're doing your best."

"What difference does that make if you explain the same thing to me every time and I don't get it!" I turned sideways with a pout. "I'm just wasting your time." His hand gently pushed my shoulder down, turning me back upwards. "Don't say that." His eyes were warm, but I still felt bad for him. "You're not wasting my time. I was the one who asked you to be here."

"Yeah, and then you have to teach me that same thing for the third time."

"I don't care how many times I have to teach you. I'm still spending time with you."

My orbs found his, and I sat up while not letting go of his eyes. Did he just say he doesn't care because he's spending time with me?

"What did you just say?"

"What part? The one where I don't mind teaching you or the one where I want to spend time with you?" His usual sweet smile, turned into a grin. I had noticed that when he intentionally flirt, he'd be more mature, than if it happens by accident.

"You want to spend time with me?" I was so stunned by his boldness that I didn't know what to do. He reached out to me and brushed some hair behind my ear. "Yeah, don't you want to spend time with me?" I moped, what has happened to him?

"Of course, I do."

"Then it doesn't matter if it takes long to understand this, does it?"

"No?"

My reply was more of a question then an answer, but I was busy trying to figure out where the shy Daichi was hiding while his mature side was out. "Then let's do it one more time."

The rest of the evening Daichi showed different sides of affection, like he was encouraging me through touching. He stroked my arm, brushed away my hair, or gave me small side hugs whenever I got something right. I didn't mind this new side, but at the same time I wondered where it came from.

"There we go! You're sure to pass the next test now!" I only stared at him. He noticed and stared back.

 He noticed and stared back
