After regaining his consciousness, Ryan lay on the bed of his compelled motel room, thinking about the events that had transpired in the recent hours. Firstly, it was starting to become a habit now,him ending up unconscious. A habit that he didn't like one bit and would do anything to change. He swore to himself that if this day ended with him being unconscious again he would give Hope a nice piece of his mind. It was becoming quite irritating, everytime he did something or tried to convince her she would just silence him.

Too much was going on in his mind, he was desperately trying not to think about how Hope had murdered the wolf. He could not get the site out of his mind even if he tried. It was partly good that Hope decided they would rest before finding the vampire, he was in no state to take over anyone at the moment, all he wanted to do was sleep and maybe eat something delicious.

He was also thankful that she had compelled them to have two different rooms at the motel and he had his own privacy. Although Hope was just in the next room and he had a feeling she could barge in anytime and end his privacy in a minute. And before that could happen, it was very necessary that he go take a bath so that he could at least be relaxed when that happens.

Hope was in her room lying on her bed, but her ears were on Ryan's room. She had a feeling that he would try to run away from the room in order to escape her. She almost stood up from the bed as she heard the sound of a door open but quickly relaxed as she heard the shower run. So he was having a shower, it was better than running away.

Hope would never admit to Ryan but she was almost considering going back to the school. When she had started her mission she felt it would be easy, but now she was starting to realize that maybe Ryan was right.

They were nearly fooled by a werewolf, a werewolf that turned without a full moon. She got a good idea of how strong the witch could be if she had the power to do this, but she felt she could do that too, only if she knew the spell, it looked like overconfidence on her side but it wasn't. She knew she could handle it. She had handled a lot worse than this. She was the tribrid, and so far there was nothing that could kill her. However it wouldn't hurt if she tried to be a little more vigilant and careful.

Her eyes soon fell on the table where the Triad book lay. She went close to it and picked it up and turned to the pages of the vampire. The vampire was supposed to be in Fayetteville. Surely it could be a coincidence that Trudy also lived there, and so did Ryan but what were the odds of that. The vampire and Trudy were definitely related.

One question that kept Hope's mind thinking was what did Trudy want from Ryan? It was clear that once she would have gotten what she wanted she would have killed him. Still it was quite surprising. She didn't act like a supernatural. She was surprised to see her and didn't know anything about Triad, but that could be bullshit. She had to give it to the girl, she acted good. Apparently too good, if she managed to fool Ryan Clarke who once disguised himself as Vardemus to infiltrate the school.

Looking back, she thought he did a pretty good job at hiding the fact that he was Vardemus. Although not much good when it came to hiding his intentions. She figured his intentions out at the game, when he used magic to cheat. As she was thinking about him she heard the shower close and the door open again.

He was infuriating but she liked his company. It was the most she had at the moment. She couldn't understand why she preferred the company of an ex mudman over her own aunt or friends. But she had always preferred him somehow. From betraying her friends to listen to his plan and then waiting for him in the hospital to wake up. It was him that had made her realize that she had friends and family. She would rather die than say it out aloud but deep down she knew she came to him because some part of her thought that he would understand why she did these things, but when he didn't quite understand she felt the need to doubt herself.
