Tommy got a scholarship to a prestigious boarding school. He accepts it, obviously. His best friend is going, and he doesn't wanna be left on his own. Unfortunately, the spoiled, rich, assholes known as the Minecraft twins take a liking to Tommy. Now he's got a whole other set of issues on his hands.

In retrospect, Tommy really should’ve turned down that scholarship. It had seemed like a good idea at first, what with it being a full ride to one of the most prestigious boarding schools in the country. Even his best friend, Tubbo, had gotten a scholarship! Why would he say no?

It was the third week of August when students were supposed to arrive at campus, even though classes wouldn’t start for another week. It was just supposed to help the students get acclimated, or reacclimated, to the school so they could learn where all their classes were and get dorm assignments, which Tommy and Tubbo made sure that they were rooming together.

When classes started, everything was fine! The two generally stuck together, even making a few other friends around campus. They learned from a few of their older friends to avoid the Minecraft twins, and so that’s what the two did. They stayed out of the way, got good grades, and had the times of their lives following their passions.

Then it happened. The dreaded day during the second week of September that started the snowball to what would later become the worst timeline for Tommy.

It was a normal day, the two were walking from the dining hall to their shared maths class for third period. Everything would’ve been fine, but one of the Minecraft twins, Wilbur, if he’d remembered correctly, decided to make a detour through that hallway that day. Everyone scrambled to get out of his way, but Tubbo wasn’t fast enough. The two bumped shoulders and Wilbur stumbled slightly. Everyone in the hallway froze.

Tubbo’s face was a mix of horror and guilt. Tommy watched in slow motion as anger crossed Wilbur’s face for point two seconds, and then he started cussing Tubbo out for daring to get in his way. When Tubbo looked at the ground in an attempt to not cry, Tommy saw red.

Before he’d even registered what he was doing, Tommy had shrugged his bag off his shoulders and punched one of the two most powerful people in the school square in the nose.

If the hallway was quiet before, it was deathly silent now. For a very tense thirty seconds, no one moved while the two had a staring contest. Wilbur’s eyes held a mix of intrigue, shock, and anger, whereas Tommy’s held pure, unadulterated rage. The staring contest broke when Tommy spoke out. “ No one hurts Tubbo. Not even you, bitch.”

The entire hallway let out one collective gasp, and then everyone started scrambling to get out of the hallway before Wilbur could really lose his shit. Tommy took the kerfuffle around them as the opportunity to grab his bag and Tubbo’s wrist and then high-tail it out of there.

If he’d bothered to look back, he would’ve seen Wilbur staring after him in confusion and slight awe. But he hadn’t, so he didn’t. Instead, he chose to ask why Tubbo had just stood there and taken it, not bothering with the fact that he had just made a poor choice in enemies.

Nothing had happened to him by the next morning. Everyone found it just the tiniest bit strange that no one had heard anything bad about the kid who’d punched Wilbur in the face. He shrugged off the pitying, fearful, and even jealous looks he received from the students he passed on his way to his second period English class.

He’s barely through the classroom door before he’s being yanked into a back corner by Techno Minecraft. The pink-haired twin just stared at him with a stoic expression, not saying a word. Tommy decided to stare right back at him. He wasn’t going to go down that easy.
