hallucinations

 I hate you.

Tommy blinked, the phrase slowly making its way through his head. “What?”

Tubbo laughed, turning his head to look at Tommy with an easy smile. “Tommy, I asked if you wanted to hang out, man.”

“Sure, bee boy,” Tommy gently shoved his friend. “Let’s go steal some shit.”

Tubbo let a wicked grin split his face, immediately running off cackling towards the nearest chests. Tommy chased after, trying his best to fully ignore what he heard before. Tubbo hadn’t meant it, hell, Tubbo hadn’t even said it, but it was hard. It was hard to think otherwise.

Ever since he came back, he had these unfortunate hallucinations. It twisted people’s words, declaring war and hatred or spouting off lies that bit and tore at his heart. Nobody else heard these words, it was only him. He found this out during a rather heated discussion with Tubbo and Ranboo right before trying to get exposure therapy, when these visions started fucking with him more than he could ever admit.

“Oh, piss off! Why don’t you go die again, you fuck?”

“You’re ruining our lives, Tommy. I wish that you were still in that prison.”

When Tommy bit back at them harder, shouting things that made no sense in response, Tubbo and Ranboo reeled back on their discussion. Neither had said things like that. It was just his tortured mind running off into a pit of darkness that would never come true.

Hopefully.

Tubbo and Ranboo both knew what was going on with it, so they were aware of what to do whenever Tommy accidentally heard one of these comments.

However, it wasn’t like these hallucinations floated around just Tubbo and Ranboo.

You’re nothing! You don’t deserve what you get, and you never have. I don’t know how we were ever friends.” Jack had been the one he heard say that, right when they were having their argument over who actually owned the hotel. Sure, Jack had said things like that thousands of times at this point, but it had never been said so raw.Tommy found it hard to shoot back in their argument with as much ferocity as he had before hearing that.

Maybe I should get Dream out of that prison. It would finally shut you up.” That one he’d heard from Sapnap, when he was being just a bit too annoying within Kinoko Kingdom that day. Sapnap had turned around right after with a slight laugh, pushing Tommy out of the borders with the declaration that ‘I’m just protective of this place’.

You should have stayed exiled.” It was a simple one, and yet it was one that hurt the most. Quackity had ended up dropping that one out of the blue, previously having asked Tommy to come to join his side in Las Nevadas. Tommy had gone silent, as Wilbur and Quackity split off from him and started having their own arguments.

You ruined my son! You destroyed him, you never did anything for him. All you did was drag him along, and force me to kill him! ” The words hadn’t matched Phil’s expression in the slightest, having been an exasperated smile at Tommy’s own antics. Even so, it caught him off guard enough that he didn’t keep speaking for a couple of minutes, letting Phil continue his basement project in silence. Tommy would come back to his previous energy but with a bit more caution this time around.
