She was riding me like a wild thing and I could have released at any minute, but I wasn't quite ready for it to be over yet. Her body contracted around me, squeezing so hard that I had to grit my teeth to hold on a bit longer. Her pale skin was flushed with the exertion and she smelled so good my mind was nothing more than a haze...

I groaned with the force of my orgasm, forcing it into her body. My wolf wanted to get her pregnant, while the sane part of my mind desperately hoped she was right that her birth control would work effectively against my instinctual desires. I didn't have to ask to know that she wasn't ready for children yet, and I didn't want to risk fucking this up now that things were going better.

She moved again, and I held her to me more firmly while snaking a hand between us to find her clit. She shivered while I worked her to another height and she dug her nails into my back while her muscles squeezed me again. The way she clung to me in the seconds afterwards felt damn good.

"You know, you might just be my new favourite drug."

I just grinned instead of responding. "So, sex in the forest? Yea or nay?"

"Yea, although my knees are filthy," she said. Her legs were splayed across me with her knees in the dirt on either side. My grin got bigger. "But you took most of the dirt. And hopefully all of the creepy things in it." She made a disgusted face at the thought.

"That was the idea." If I pounded into her with her back on the forest floor she'd be at risk of being stabbed and bruised by twigs and rocks. Same problem with any position where I was pushing my weight into her.

She scoffed at me, but I didn't care. She was human and I was her mate so I was going to protect her however required. It didn't matter that she was a tough little thing and could likely manage on her own just fine, she shouldn't have to now that she had me. I kissed her and her scoff melted into enthusiasm. The way I distracted her pleased me, but I wasn't about to get myself into trouble by telling her that.

We walked for a bit longer before circling back to the pack. I watched her carefully for any signs of regret, but all I could sense was contentment. I wished I could mark her now, but like moving in with me or having kids, I figured it was probably too far of a leap.

When we got back to the trailer, we were on our own so I carried her off to my bed and made love to her again, this time more slowly. I wanted her to be able think of nothing else when she left.

And she did leave, although at least she didn't seem happy about it. I certainly wasn't, as I watched her drive away and forced my wolf down where he wouldn't cause any trouble.

After that weekend, we fell into a rhythm for weeks. I'd see her once or twice during the week, and we'd go wherever we could have a bit of privacy on the weekend, whether it was my new rooms in the pack house or her place when both her roommates were out. She kept working at the job she seemed not to particularly like, and she announced that she had decided to start talking to a counsellor about what she labelled her 'issues'.

I just wanted her to be happy, so I supported whatever it took to get her there, and kept my wolf's impatience under control to the best of my ability, while I worked at the new site or around the territory. My time was stretched even more thin, but it wasn't that hard to manage with the satisfaction I got every time I saw her, and it helped me be patient while she set the pace. She knew that she was welcome to come and live with me when she was ready, and I kept my mouth firmly shut so I wouldn't pressure her about it.

Exactly six months since the night I had met her, I went over my plans for her as I drove into town. She didn't know that, all she knew was that we were going out for a nice dinner that night. I had a surprise for her that I hoped she would like.
