some things in the phoenix drop high universe will be changed here cause some things r kinda weird lol hopefully i do an ok job at explaining those things in the story as it goes. let me know if you'd like a better explanation if it isn't clear or a list of things changed if that's easier

"Y/n over here!"

Y/n looks up from their phone. They pocket their phone into their uniform before heading to a fountain that sits in front of the school. Y/n's cousin Daniel waves them over. Two other werewolves accompany him. They give the new werewolf welcoming smiles.

"Hey," Y/n greets. "Thought I was going to have go in alone."

Daniel chuckles, "Of course not! I'm responsible for you from now on."

It was Y/n's turn to laugh. "I'm older than you!"

"Only by a couple months!" Daniel frowns. "Ugh anyway. Y/n this is Dottie and Ryland."

"Nice to meet ya!" Dottie stuck her hand out for a shake. Y/n accepts. "So you're also a junior?"

"Yeah." Y/n nods.

"Nice."

"We should probably get to class," Ryland points out after checking the time on his phone.

"Oh yeah. Let me see your schedule, Y/n," Daniel says.

"I'm so glad we have homeroom and first period together," Y/n says in relief.

Daniel smiles as he leads the way to first bell. "And you have Dottie third."

"Yeah true," Y/n shrugs. "It's someone to talk to."

"I'm sure you guys'll be friends over time," Daniel says. Y/n just shrugs again.

Daniel stops at a classroom. He opens the door for Y/n to head in first. They enter awkwardly and wait for Daniel to enter behind them. Upon entering the classroom the pair is greeted with an intense arm wrestle at one of the desk.

"Give it up Blaze!" The red eyed werewolf growls. "I'm going to be the Alpha this year!"

Blaze blows a strand of his red hair out of his face. He gives Balto a confident smile, "No way bro. I'll prove myself to our Alpha and she'll choose me!"

Balto frowns while he strains himself to keep his arm up. Blaze keeps eye contact with Balto. "Give in!"

Balto's arm shakes before it gives out, declaring Blaze the winner. The small crowd around the two cheer and clap. Blaze smiles and cheers back at the crowd. His eyes fall to Y/n. He gives them a wave before going back to his mini celebration. Balto rolls his eyes and retreats to a desk in the back corner of the classroom. The bell rings and the class settles down. Daniel and Y/n take seats by the window.

"What was that?" Y/n asks Daniel.

"Oh Balto is always challenging Blaze in tests of strength," Daniel explains. "They're some of the werewolves fighting for Alpha this year."

"You guys do that here?" Y/n frowns in confusion. "How does it even work?"

"Alright quiet down class!" A man enters the classroom, adjusting his reading glasses as he does so. "We'll do attendance before going over the expectations of this class."

The teacher goes over his roaster to take attendance. Once he's finished he takes out a stack of papers. "So for those who do not know I am Mr. Gavyn. I will be teaching your Werewolf History class. The paper I'm passing out to you is just a set of rules I have set for this class and some of the activities we'll be doing in here."
