Peter Parker?

Jade's POV:

I woke up a little hungover the next day. Elijah was not in the bed. His words were still echoing in my mind ' That's my wife you're talking about.' I couldn't help but feel butterflies in my stomach while he said that. Am I falling for him? I went downstairs and saw a TV in the living room. I ran towards it in excitement.

"Elijah bought it as a birthday present," Nik said sipping his bourbon.

"He did?" My eyes widened and my heart fluttered.

"Dude it's nine in the morning. Why are you drinking bourbon?" I asked.

"It's a habit." He said.

"Well, not anymore. You got a 5-year-old kid." I snatched the bourbon glass from him. He frowned at me.

"Where's your brother?" I asked.

"Your loving husband is in the kitchen." I snorted and rolled my eyes at this comment. I went to Elijah and saw him making breakfast. I went up to him.

"Do you wanna explain yourself?" He asked which made me frown.

"What?"

"You were so drunk yesterday despite the fact you are not old enough to drink and when the bartender refused to serve you alcohol. You threatened him and flexed that you were Mrs. Elijah Mikaelson." I looked at the floor and was smiling because last night was pretty fun.

"Is this amusing to you?" He asked with a louder tone.

"Come on? who are you? the fun police." I said which made him put the whisk down and cross his arms and he gave me a death stare.

"Um.  I am sorry. Won't happen again." I said and looked at the floor again.

"Hey, you got the TV for me?" I said smiling and squealing.

"Well yeah. I figured you'd be bored." He said with an expressionless face.

"And the award for best husband goes to Elijah Mikaelson," I said which did NOT make him smile. My smile faded and it changed into a frown. Maybe he doesn't like me. It's a contract marriage after all. Something was off about him. I went out of the kitchen and got dressed and showered. I packed my back with books and was just about to leave when Elijah noticed me.

"Where are you off to Mrs. Mikaelson?" He asked.

"College."

"Which one?"

" The University of New Orleans." 

"At what time should I pick you up?"

"Please tell me your joking."

"I am not."

"Why do you have to babysit me, dude?" I said in frustration.

"I am looking out for you. You are careless, young, and stupid."

"I'll text you," I said giving up. What is wrong with him today? Did I say something yesterday? I am so confused and irritated. I went to college and met Eliana and Theo. I attended all the classes but I had a hard time focusing because I was thinking about Elijah. What did I do to upset him?

We all were getting out of the college and were talking on the campus when I saw Elijah approaching. All my friends turned to see him.

"Oh look, it's my husband. The ApPlE Of My eYe." I said sarcastically.

"Woah. You're hot. I figured you married Jade so you'll be an uggo." Penelope said.

"If you say anything else, the next thing to come out of your mouth will be your teeth," I said and Elijah laughed.

"Time to go." He said and I left with him. He didn't look at me during the entire car ride. What in the world is bothering him? He left shortly after leaving me home. I felt something was wrong so I decided to ask Klaus about it. I knocked on his door while he was painting.

"Hey, can I ask you some questions?"

"Does it matter if I  say no?"

"Nuh-uh, " I said plainly

"Okay go on."  He said after sighing.

"What's up with Elijah today? Did something happen at work?"

"No, except he was with Katherine today. She can be irritating."

"His ex-girlfriend Katherine?" I said in a louder tone.

"How did you know?" He asked.

"Rebekah and I talk," I said rolling my eyes and storming out of the room.

I was in bed tearing up in frustration. I mean how did I not see that coming? Of course, he is cheating on me. While I was thinking about what he and Katherine would've done, Elijah entered the room. I got up from the bed and locked the door. He looked at me confused.

"Where were you the whole day?" I asked crossing my arms.

"Work. Why?" 

"You were with Katherine, weren't you?"

"Yeah. okay?"

"You spent the day with your psycho ex doing god knows what and expect me to be calm about it." I yelled.

"Why does it bother you? It's not like we have a connection anyways. You are in love with some guy named Peter and for your information, we did not do anything at all."

"I DON'T EVEN KNOW A PETER!"

"You're lying. You mumbled in your sleep last night. 'I love you peter?" and I saw a pregnancy test in your bag. I've never felt this kind of heartbreak before. But here I was thinking you were a decent girl and here you are!" He yelled and I closed my eyes in frustration and embarrassment.

"Oh my god, Elijah. I was talking about Peter Parker! It is a FICTIONAL CHARACTER. And that test was Eliana's. I am not lying, Ask anyone of my friends."

He took a long pause and was embarrassed I think. He bit his lower lip and looked on the floor. He was shocked too. I calmed down and cleared my throat.

"Were you Jealous of Peter?" I said smirking and smiling.

"Were you jealous of Katherine?" He said and pulled an Uno reverse card on me.
