"It's not safe, sweetheart. You're a human."
"Exactly. I am a human. This is the kind of stuff we do."
"You can't go. End of discussion." He said and lay on the bed. I was so angry at him. "Too bad, I am still going," I said and got off the bed and stormed downstairs. I sat on the couch for some minutes and got in the kitchen.
"Rough night?" I heard Klaus's voice.
"Your brother is driving me nuts," I said reaching to the shelf. I tiptoed but I couldn't reach the jar of cookies. So I went ahead and grabbed a stool.
"Well, it's a default setting," Klaus said which made me snicker. I loved Klaus's humor. Well, who doesn't? He smiled.
"You know, I went to his office party. It was a room full of Elijahs." I said while placing the stool on the ground.
"I've had that exact same nightmare once." He said which made me laugh. I got on the stool but my feet slipped and I fell. Klaus sped and held me halfway but I still hit my head on the slab.
"Careful, love." He said putting me down. He got me the jar of cookies.
"Ow. God." I said feeling the bump on my head.
"Elijah did a number on you," Klaus said sipping his drink. I rolled my eyes.
"Shut up," I said.
"Hey, there's an art exhibition tomorrow. Wanna go?"
"Yes. What time?"
"Two."
"Great," I said. I saw Elijah coming down the stairs and my smile fainted and changed into an angry look.
"Speak of the devil," I mumbled under my breath.
"So, I am the devil now?" He asked. I just rolled my eyes.
"Listen to me Jade, you can't go to Las Vegas. It's dangerous and far from home."
"It's my cup of care. Oh! look it's empty," I said showing him an empty cup in my hands. This fueled his frustration and Klaus was just trying hard not to laugh.
"Niklaus, can you give me a moment alone with my oh so lovely wife?" He said. Klaus left the room while Elijah gave me a deadly look which I returned. If we had swords in our hands, we would've been covered in blood. He slowly stepped towards me as an opponent does. I was a human and he was an original. So I was frightened but I knew he wouldn't hurt me. His stern look made my heart skip a beat.
"You really want to go?" He asked which was a whisper.
"I do," I said which was a whisper with pleading and teary eyes.
"Then I am going with you." He said without wasting a breath. I sighed with frustration.
"Ughhhhh. You're a vampire. You're a thousand years old for god's sake!!! What the hell will you do on a silly college trip?" I yelled.
"Listen to me Jade, I have lost countless people because of my family background. Friends, acquaintances, lovers, and many more. Those innocent souls just gave up their life because they made the mistake of loving me. You don't know how strong and equally vulnerable it makes you by being loved by a Mikaelson. I will go crazy if I lost you. You are my everything. So even if I had to, I will live every joy and every sorrow again. I will cry every tear and laugh at every joke again. I will do everything again. I will live my life all over again. And this time, I will enjoy it because you will be with me. I can't imagine my life without you. In my thousand years on this earth, you are the one who taught me to live." He said almost tearing up.
I was taken aback by this comment. I stepped forward and wrapped my arms around his waist and buried my head into his chest. He hugged me back tightly. I pulled back and kissed him with all my love. He looked straight into my eyes and kissed my forehead which caused me to smile. His gaze immediately went to the bump in my head. He frowned and gently put a strand of my hair behind my head.
"Does it hurt?" He asked softly.
"A little," I responded. He offered me his blood but I refused.
He piggybacked me to bed.
"I am sorry," I whispered in his ear.
"I am sorry too." He said before kissing the palm of my hand.
And we enjoyed one night of passion. The next day was spent almost planning and making the arrangements and I went to an art exhibition with Klaus. It was nice. Rebekah helped me shop for the perfect vacation outfits. I wanted to do something for Elijah. So, I went home early and with Rebekah's help, I baked some red velvet cupcakes. I ordered a fancy dinner and some roses and decorated our bedroom. I was just setting everything in place when I heard a knock. This was Rebekah's cue to leave. I opened the door to see the man I'd been dreaming about today. He was stunned to see the dinner table.
"Surprise!" I squealed. His smile widened and he hugged me.
"Sweetheart!! You didn't have to do this."
"Of course I did," I said.
"Now if you wanna relax first, I set up a bath for you," I said.
"That's so nice. Exactly what I needed today." He said.
"I know I am a genius," I said flipping my hair to hear him giggle.
"Fine, I am going to take a bath and you are coming with me." He said flirting which immediately made me blush and I looked down.
"Um. Yeah Okay." I whispered. The night was everything I expected.
The next day, we all booked a bus and Elijah sat beside me. He was socializing with my friends and it was so nice. We all sang songs like a bunch of kids on the bus.
"Okay, your turn Jade. Tell us something no one knows about you?" Laura asked.
"Um. Okay, let's see. I once made out with our college professor ." I said. Everyone cheered for me. Elijah was equally amazed.
"Which one ?" Theo asked.
"Professor Joseph," I said laughing.
"Oh my god! Girl? You are wild." Laura exclaimed.
"Why is Elijah so quiet?" Theo asked.
"Nobody plans a murder out loud," Eliana said which made everyone laugh.
"That is true," Elijah said and laughed.
I pulled out my guitar and sang songs with everyone else. We reached there and checked in our hotel rooms. Elijah watched me excitedly squealing and hopping with my friends as we reached. Eliana and I were obsessing over the hotel rooms.
