Rejection Before Karma

Chapter 9

Colton and I paused outside the door to the TV room. Everyone was chatting happily and laughter was heard now and then. I took a deep breath and looked at Colton. He was looking at me with a tender expression.

"What?" I asked and raised my eyebrow at him. He shook his head and smiled. His brown eyes sparkling with a hint of mischief.

"You just amaze me more and more everyday." he said and I blushed.

"I think I'll start a jar." I said and he gave me a confused look not comprehending my random comment. I couldn't blame him. Ot was pretty random.

"A jar? Why?" he asked and I sighed.

"Because I know now on from this moment on that any compliment like that is going to come more and more often. Because I'm such a clever person I will ask every person to place a dollar in the jar when a compliment like that is said. I should be rich by the end of the month." he laughed and shook his head.

"Darling, since you're my mate, you're already rich." he said with a laugh and shook his head. I returned the smile and shrugged.

"The more the merrier." I argued mootly. Colton shook his head and again walked into the room, leading me without my command. As soon as Shila and Cassie's eyes locked onto our joined hands they let out an earpiercing scream and started jumping around. Colton and I winced while every other male in the room jumped up and stood in defensive positions looking around for the threats.

"They're finally together!"the girls shouted and hugged each other, hopping on the spot.

I looked at Colton pointedly, "See why I stopped outside the room?" I said and he nodded with a pained look.

The guys registered what the girls had said and looked at our hands and sheepish smiles. Their eyes widened.

"Ah hell." Seth cursed wincing.

"She's our new luna." Connor had the same expression on his face. I was fighting a glare until Liam came along and placed his arms over his brother's shoulders and a wide smile.

"Ah, come on guys. She'll be an amazing luna. Look at how much times we've completed successful missions. It's because of her that we are all still alive and tolerating each other." He looked around the room and everybody was nodding along to his words.

Kael relaxed back into his bean bag. "I may be young but even I see the truth in those words. And honestly I don't mind having someone to run and hide behind when my brother decides to have a wrestling match when I'm not one hundred percent awake." the group chuckles at that and Colton coughed out "Coward" behind a fist at his mouth. Kael blushed while we laughed at him.

"Come on guys. Leave the poor kid alone." I laughed and he threw me a thankful look.

"See? What I tell you?" Liam said and looked smug while saying it. We all shook our heads at him and he just shook it off and went to the bar to fetch him a can of coke.

"Can we go shopping?" Shila asked and I gave her a confused look.

"Why the hell do we need to go shopping, Shila?" I asked and tugged Colton's hand so he follwed me to the empty loveseat which we snugly sunk into.

"Uhm, because you don't have any smart clothing worth a damn in your closet." she said in a 'duh' tone. She turned to Cassie and pointed to me as if to say 'explain'.

"Why do I feel like I don't know something?" I asked them and they glared at me.

"Because you don't," Cassie started, "you're going to need suits for when you go to your formal Alpha pair meetings." my eyes went wide and I tried to stand up but Colton's arms were holding me down.

"Hold up! There is no way in hell I am wearing stupid suits. Every meeting I have gone to, with alphas present might I add, I have worn whatever garment I felt like wearing. Honestly I am not one for appearance because it's not the looks I care about it's the respect I have wherever I go." I was still trying to get up but gave up after my speech. Colton wasn't letting me go anytime soon. I sighed when the girls threw their hands up in the air exasperated.

"What the hell are we going to do with you?" Cassie exclaimed and I shrugged my couldn't care less shrug which only succeeded in making her more irritated.

"But since it means so much to you, I'll go shopping to buy whatever I need. I'm not saying I'll wear them but it's never bad to prepare just in case." the girls started doing their little hyper dance and I shook my head at them with wide eyes.

"I'm related to one of them." was all I said and the gang laughed.

"Guess who's shopping soon?" Connor laughed and I glared at him.

"Three girls shopping means each girl gets a guy to carry her things and follow her around. Which mean you, Techno Triplets, are going to be our jackasses for the day." they shut up after that and the two brothers glared at Connor and his big mouth.

"You idiot." Liam whined.

"You got us on death duty." Seth complained and I leaned back into Colton's embrace, happy with my work of misery.

"Why can't Colton play jackass?" Liam groaned and Colton cut me off before I could answer.

"Because I got a lot of very important alpha business to take care of. Besides, if I went with her she'll be more focused on me than what she needs to buy."

"I'm not complaining. Shopping with Blades and Shadow is going to be hell." I mumered and the evil smiling  look the girls gave me made me wince.

Colton chuckled. "You'll be fine." he started rubbing and my arm and I nodded.

"Fine. But you owe me." he nuzzled my neck making me start going hot all over.

"I promise I'll make up for it. More than enough." I smiled and chukled. Turning back to a sulking Liam I laughed.

"Oh, for once I'm actually happy about going shopping. Your misery makes me happy."

Liam glared at me, "Screw being a good luna. You suck." I laughed and continued to make comments that made the boys dread shopping more and more.

This was going to be fun.

Sorry about waiting so long to upload and as well as this chapter being short but it is. Every computer in my house decided it's time to break so uploading will be slow but from here it gets better.

Being called back to her pack is coming soon. That's where the real fun begins. Who wants to read her old family's reactions to who she is now and new life? I know I do.
