Chapter 18

-Next morning-

“Rise and shine!” I hear someone shout and I groan. “Come on Maci if you want to help cook you have to get up.” I open my eyes and see Louis standing in front of me fully dressed and ready for the day.

Maci: “What time is it?”

Louis: “About eight, so you have to get up and get ready to be on your feet all day.”

Maci: “Fine.” I say and get out of the warm bed and Louis walks out of the room. I grab a pair of jeans and a t-shirt and throw my hair up in a ponytail and do some makeup to make me look less gross and walk downstairs. I see Louis and his mum looking at most likely recipes and I walk up to them.

Jay: “Morning Maci! We have loads of things you can eat for breakfast if you would like something. I recommend eating though.”

Maci: “Alright, thank you.” I say and she nods towards the cabinets and I get some cereal and pour myself a bowl and pour the milk over and sit down in front of them.

Jay: “Alright, I have everything prepared we just have to cook it all.”

Louis: “Do you want Maci and I to do the cookies?”

Jay: “That’d be lovely.”

I take my bowl to the sink and place it in the dishwasher after rinsing it and Louis and I start working on the cookies. Once he rolls out the dough we start cutting and putting them on the trays. We have a ton of dough to cook so it will take all day.

When we were on our seventh or eighth layer of sugar cookies Louis accidentally flings flour on me.

Louis: “I’m so sorry!”

Maci: “It’s fine, I just have to get you back.” His mum was in the bathroom and I reach across and grab a handful of flour and fling it right on his face and in his hair.

Louis: “It’s on Maci.” He says and starts pelting me with flour. I scream and try to fight back but he’s definitely winning.

Jay walks out and gasps at our appearances and we both look at her with innocent looks on our faces.

Jay: “Louis!”

Louis: “Maci started it!”

Jay: “Louis, stop. You two go get a little cleaned up then come back and continue.”

We both walk to the bathroom and I laugh a little and Louis does too.

Maci: “Does she hate me now?”

Louis: “Of course not.”

Maci: “Okay, good.” I say and he smiles at me. Even with his whole body covered in flour he still manages to look absolutely adorable while I on the other hand probably look like a total mess.

We walk into the bathroom and I begin washing out my hair in the sink and Louis waits patiently for me to finish. Once I’m done cleaning up a bit Louis cleans himself up and I take a towel and snap it across his back.

Louis: “Ah! Maci! That really hurt!” He shouts and I start laughing uncontrollably and he glares at me and I stop laughing immediately.

Maci: “Aw Lou don’t be mad at me!” I say and he just turns around and continues cleaning. “Louis.” I say but he doesn’t reply he just grabs a towel and dries his face and hair. He turns around to face me and whips me with the towel on my leg.

Maci: “Louis stop!” I shout as he continues and laughs at me. Once he stops I whip him one more time and we go back down to finish cookies.

We finished the sugar cookies, the chocolate chip, and the ginger at around twelve and now we are working on the cinnamon and I’m kind of scared because we have to coat them in powdered sugar.
