Cara's POV

After class, I walk towards Starbucks to get something to drink and read a bit for literature class. I walk inside and order a Vanilla Bean Frappe and once I get it I sit in a booth towards the back of the shop and pull out my own copy of Gone With The Wind. I start reading and just as I'm getting lost in my book someone sits down in front of me. I look up and it's my best friend Grayson. I place my book down and smile.

"Hey there, Cara," He says.

"Hey there Grayson." I say and he goes to get his order from Starbucks and sits back down.

"How're things?" He asks and I shrug.

"Things are pretty good in general, Louis left a week ago so that kind of sucks but school is going well. How're you?" I say.

"I'm alright, Britt broke up with me." He says and my face falls.

"What? Why?" I ask and he rolls his eyes at the thought of her and shrugs.

"I don't even know, she said that she just didn't want to be in a relationship and the whole 'it's not you, it's me' blah blah blah." He says rolling his eyes again and I frown. Him and Britt had been together since sophomore year of highschool, it's crazy that they broke up.

"I'm sorry, Gray, you don't deserve that." I say and he shrugs.

"For some reason, I'm not even sad. Like, I feel more relieved to be out of the relationship. I didn't even get teary eyed, I just said 'okay' and walked away." He says and I half smile.

"Well that's good that you're not hurt about it, you guys were together for the longest time." I say and he nods.

"How're you and Louis?" He asks and I smile.

"We're good, he's such a sweetheart." I say.

"That's good, he better be treating you better than that asshole Daniel." He says. I just shrug at the thought of Daniel, I really did love him and he took my virginity but the night after he dumped me. We had been dating for two years and he dumped me for no good reason.

"I think I love him." I say and Grayson takes a deep breath.

"Don't do this again, Cara. The guys you love always fuck you over I can't have you go through that again." He says but I shake my head.

"No, he's different, Grayson. Really, you should meet him. He bought Mel for me before they had the chance to put him down and he's just so great." I say and Grayson nods.

"Just don't let your guard down, you know it never ends well when you do." He warns and I nod. Grayson and I have been friends since seventh grade and he has helped me deal with so many things. One time my dad got severely injured while in combat and we weren't sure if he was going to make it and we couldn't afford to fly out to America to see him, I was an emotional wreck but Gray was there. He was there for me after Daniel and many other breakups that killed me. He was there when my other best friend, Kimberly, ditched me, we had been friends since first grade. Basically, Grayson is the one person I can always rely on and I love that. We tried to date in eight grade but it was so awkward so we just stayed friends and that's how it's supposed to be.

"Let's have a movie and dinner night soon, we haven't done it in forever." I say and he nods. His family was really rich, they had their own theater and they had a maid who was an amazing cook. So we had movie and dinner nights all the time. "How about tomorrow night since neither of us have class on Fridays?"

"Sure, just come over around six and we can pick out a few movies and we can help Laura make dinner." He says and I nod. He isn't one of those snobby rich people who take everything for granted, hr rarely asks for anything. The main thing he wanted was to go to Oxford, the college of both of our dreams, I got in on scholarship and he did too and his parents paid the rest for him. He still lives at home because I mean, who wouldn't want to live in a mansion? Their house is gorgeous.
