The squeal came from the baby Mosura. She was currently in the jaws of a lithe red kaiju cat. Whirling around, he was about to run off with the cub. He almost ran into Godzilla in the process. Baring his teeth, the larger feline swatted the other, causing him to release his hold on the baby. Godzilla took the kitten back as the stranger hissed. He responded with a deep growl. His fur laying flat, the red kaiju cat muttered, "Um, that cub is mine."
"She is not, she belongs to Mosura and the humans," Godzilla responded curtly, keeping the baby close to him. Climbing down from the cliff clumsily, Anguirus added, "Besides, she looks nothing like you! How can something so cute come from someone as ugly as you? I mean, look at your face!" At that moment, he slipped and fell the rest of the way. Thankfully, Godzilla broke his fall. The two now laid in a heap.
"She's mine but she's not mine. I'm her guardian in the absence of Mosura," the red kaiju cat stated. Padding over to the cub as she tried to wander away, he asked, "Where is Mosura anyway?" Quickly snatching the little kitten away, Godzilla grumbled, "She's dead. We're taking the cub back to the humans." His tufted ears perking up in surprise, Anguirus exclaimed, "We are?! You're helping me?!"
"Will you shut up before I change my mind?!" Godzilla snarled.
"Here, just give me the baby. I'm her guardian, not you two. I can take her back to the humans," the stranger murmured. He went to grab her but Anguirus was faster. Cradling the cub against his chest, he snarled, "You're not taking her back! You're probably one of those kaiju cats who want Mosura dead!" Stepping forward, Godzilla rumbled, "And besides, I don't trust people who don't bother telling me who they are before trying to pick a fight with me."
"Many apologies amigo. My name is Rodan," the stranger named Rodan answered, bowing his head respectfully. Sniffing sharply, Godzilla introduced himself, "Godzilla. And I'm not your amigo." Rodan merely flicked his ear in response as he sat down, wrapping his orange tipped tail over his paws. Godzilla wasn't sure why but there was something about the red kaiju cat he didn't like. And why did the air feel warmer? It was winter yet Godzilla felt like he was sitting by a fire.
"What are we going to do?" Anguirus asked, snapping Godzilla out of his thoughts. He was still cradling the cub. Sighing heavily, the black kaiju cat grumbled, "I'll help you take it back to its humans. But do you promise to leave me alone after that?" Anguirus nodded his head rapidly. Taking a step forward, Rodan remarked, "If you're looking for the humans, you're wasting your time. They left this morning. My offer still stands. Give me the kit and I'll take it back."
"Screw you Fangface, we'll do it ourselves," Godzilla snarled. He and Anguirus walked past Rodan, the latter carrying the cub. "You should really be nicer, it's better for your health," Anguirus commented, "I think you're just stressed. How else could you be so fat?" Huffing, Godzilla replied, "I'm not fat, I'm muscular." As the two continued their conversation, Rodan watched in silence, a deep scowl on his face. He needed to get that cub. Turning, he started climbing up the cliff towards the human camp.
