It had been two days since your night with Hunter, and you were only just becoming yourself again.
Your mind still felt foggy, you had been struggling to understand yourself.
Before the battle with your brother, you had been so certain, so unbreakable.
Now, you could barely depict one feeling from another, and your powers had gone on the fritz- at one moment it would be blasting out of your hands with such force it could flatten an entire army, and at others it would be squirting out them like a broken tap.
You brushed through your hair, it's colour could only be described as vaguely... something?
One person had said it was like the sun, another like the moon.
You figured it was just another strange quality to your 'multi-perception existence'.
You grumbled in the mirror, there were dark crescents under your eyes, like Hunter's, but worse. Lack of sleep wouldn't affect your performance, but it would affect appearance.
You rubbed angrily at your eyes.
Why did you have to be so god damn confusing?
We gave up everything we loved for this, and you complain? your brother's voice echoed in your mind.
You gasped, stumbling back from the mirror, hands over your ears.
"What-" you coughed.
I can't believe you. You think you love this Hunter? You think he loves you? his voice laughed.
"Shut up- shut up!" you hissed.
How was he in your mind?
I'm in your mind because you let me be. he cackled, his voice ricocheting around your mind.
No. The spell.
Yep. Forgot about that, didn't you? I forgot for a while too. Until now, that is. he sighed contently.
You had allowed Bill perform a spell that meant he could enter your mind. It had originally been so if you got separated, you could talk to him and relocate each other.
Uh huh. Now, because I am stronger in the mindscape than you, I can access your mind and you can't access mine. he laughed.
"Not that I would want to enter that shithole." you sneered.
I'm watching, sister... he said tauntingly, his presence fading from your mind.
You punched the stone fireplace, your knuckles becoming raw and bloody.
"No, no, no!!" you hissed.
He was in your mind, he could see through your eyes and hear your thoughts.
And, he would tease. You knew he would. He'd tease and taunt, seizing every opportunity to torture you.
If he tried hard enough, you'd probably go mad.
Staring at your bloody hands, you let out a single cry of anguish.
"You have a job to do, y/n. You have a job to do." you mumbled to yourself.
Throwing on a green cloak, you left your hut.
Fastening the straps of your mask, you headed in the direction of your target.
The Owl House.
You were to 'infiltrate' it.
To befriend the inhabitants. Once you had done so, who knows what would come next.
