You spent the next few days researching what you could about the titan, and randomly crashing into Hunter's room to share your findings.
You didn't tell Hunter, but many of those nights you snuck into the palace's library.
You wanted to know what could be found out about beings like you.
And sure enough, you discovered what you had expected.
Accounts of terrible beings from other dimensions, gods.
Who controlled timelines, destroyed them, and conquered everything they came across.
To your immense horror, you found a page devoted to killing them, or removing their powers. It talked about the altars. Just like the one you found in the forest.
After reading all the manuscripts, you gathered them up and took them back to your hut.
You conjured a new bookcase, above the fireplace.
You enchanted it so only you could remove the books, for safety.
You flew over the forest, checking your vines were still intact.
They were, so you continued to the palace.
You swooped and dove, enjoying the crisp air.
Winter was falling over the Boiling Isles, and it was beautiful.
You remembered as a child, how you had visited the Norse gods for their Winter Solstice. How they sang and drank mead- even letting you and you brother have a taste.
Your mother had been close with the queen, so you and your brother had become acquainted with her two sons.
They didn't know you were from a completely different dimension. They just assumed you came from another realm.
You hadn't been there since you and Bill had... you didn't want to think about it much.
You wondered if the Boiling Isles had Winter Solstice.
It would be nice, assuming you got to spend it with Luz and her friends- they were the most cheerful bunch you'd ever known.
You felt bad for avoiding them, but you had to focus on the task at hand.
You crashed into Hunter's open window- he kept it open now because of your regular visits.
"Ah! Hello." Hunter exclaimed, jumping from his desk.
"Ola-" you greeted.
It was early morning, and it appeared like Hunter hadn't slept as his bed was left untouched.
"We need to go undercover, dress as average coven scouts." he instructed, handing you the uniform.
You nodded and put on the mask and cloak.
You twirled around. "How do I look?"
"Convincing." he said, putting on his own scout disguise.
You frowned. "How're we getting to the caves?"
"By foot."
"BY FOOT? C'mon! I have wings for gods' sake." you cried angrily.
You waved your hand and the cloak disintegrated.
"Wait-" he began.
You grabbed him round the waist and flew out the window, in the direction of the caves.
He blushed.
"You need to warn me before doing that."
"I make no promises." you smiled.
