You stretched, preparing yourself for a sparring match.

Hunter did the same, rolling his shoulders back.

You conjured the swords, passing one to him.

"It's getting dark... I might struggle..." Hunter started.

"Oh don't make excuses! It's only dusk!" you laughed, moving your right foot back for extra balance.

He sighed, and made the first lunge.

Spinning around each other, you swung blows faster than light, barely registered by the other.

Your determination wasn't fuelled by hatred or anger, it was fuelled by excitement, and anticipation to see where the next blow would fly in from.

You both found yourselves laughing as you swung your blades, ducking and swerving away like rabbits fighting.

This was the happiest you'd been since you were a child, and your whole face beamed with sheer merriment.

As you swung away from another blow, you stood back from him, smiling.

You dropped your sword, prancing over to him, your arms flailing merrily as you went.

You knocked the sword out of Hunter's hand.

You held his hand, raising it to the side.

Swinging him, you began a fast-paced waltz.

"Are you drunk?" he asked nervously.

"No! I'm just enjoying the moment. Look at the sky!" you replied, snapping back your neck to gaze at the beautiful gradient.

Like a painting, the lush colours decorated the sky carefully blended into something that could only be compared to the skies of Heaven, or Valhalla.

He looked up too, admiring it's beauty. "I've never seen the sky like this... who knew the Boiling Isles could be so pretty..."

You smiled.

You continued your waltz, slower now, as you hummed a melody only you knew.

You sensed his blushing.

You ended your tune, pushing away from him and sitting down on the perimeter wall of the roof, your legs swinging off the edge.

"My brother once said, one may no longer be immortal if they succumb to the emotions of those below them. But here I am, still demi-immortal, yet I am feeling mortal things. It is beautiful." you sighed happily, a light blush lingering on your cheeks.

He sat next to you, gazing at the setting sun.

"What are your feelings?" he asked quietly.

"I've never felt afraid since becoming demi-immortal. The few emotions we can find present are just anger, sadness, and a sinister-like content. But now my horizons are expanding. Some feelings I do not like, others... well they're feelings I want to feel forever." you smiled softly.

Hunter's heart was doing the two-step. He felt so strange. Never in his life had he felt this way. He had never had anyone. Belos wasn't exactly a cuddly supportive uncle, and because of his status he was sort of prevented from forming any mutual relationship with anyone.

But here he was.

You looked to him, cocking your head.

"You've gone quiet." you whispered.

He sighed slowly. Heart pounding faster, he slipped his hand into yours.

Your heart fluttered. It was the most horrible and fantastic experience ever.

You curled your fingers round his, squeezing.

No words were needed to transmit the message.

The new feelings you were experiencing was what you believed was love.

Hunter gave a quick glance round, before letting go of your hand and pulling down his hood.

Then, off came the mask.

You went red, and had to internally scold yourself for your ridicule.

He had a sharp chin, and a slightly hooked nose. His eyes were a deep maroon, like pools of midnight. He had dark lines under his eyes, from lack of sleep.

He smiled sheepishly. There was a small crack in the centre of his teeth.

"Now you see me." he mumbled awkwardly, glancing at you sideways.

"Hi." was all you could say.

You both laughed awkwardly. New feeling No.3, awkwardness. You had always been sure of yourself. You begged for it not to be permanent.

You both sat in a blissful silence, gazing at the sky as the burning sun dwindled in it's strength, falling below the skyline. The painted shades gained darkness, from reds, oranges and yellows, to pinks, purples and blues.

"I need to... go. Belos will be wondering where I am." Hunter stuttered, silently getting to his feet.

You stood up after him. "Ok."

"I was meaning to tell you, Belos heard about your alliance, he wants you to befriend the Owl Lady, and her acquaintances. He's been trying to recapture them since the failed petrification." he said, gesturing towards you.

"I can try... it's just not easy with a mask." you replied, dusting yourself off.

"y/n, you don't need a mask." Hunter said, walking back over to you.

"But my eyes? My wings? They'll be disgusted." you mumbled sadly, staring at your shoes.

Hunter frowned.

Then blushed, and said, "They won't. I think you're... beautiful."

Your eyes flicked up. You blushed slightly.

He gently, almost unsurely, placed a hand on the back of your neck, pulling your face towards his.

He pressed his lips against yours.

A... kiss.

You accepted it, your body slackening.

You moved your hand round his waist, bringing his body closer to yours.

Where the hell had this been, hiding from you? This bliss was incomparable to anything else.

You revelled in the moment.

Reluctantly, you stopped.

His eyes flicked anywhere but yours, he was as red as a tomato.

You bit your lip, fumbling with your fingers.

"I'll see you... soon." you whispered, smiling softly.

He nodded, collecting his things.

"Goodbye, Angel." he said, brandishing his staff.

In a flash of light, he was gone.

You were left, dazed, on top of the roof.

Falling to your knees, you grasped your head in your hands.

Emotions were overwhelming, especially when thrown at the receiver in heaps.
