I woke up the next morning wearing the same clothes I was yesterday including Soda's flannel he gave me cause I was cold last night. I got up and walked in the living room to see the gang. Two-bit and Steve were watching tv, eating chocolate cake, and drinking beer.
"You guys are crazy" I said giggling.
"Why?" Two-bit asked.
"Cause you guys are drinking beer so early" o said. I looked over at the clock to see it was only 8:35 in the morning.
"It's 8:35 in the morning" I said walking into the kitchen.
Sodapop and Ponyboy were eating cereal at the table. I walked over and poured a bowl of cereal and sat next to Ponyboy.
"Hey Y/n" Sodapop said.
"Yeah" I said looking up from my bowl.
"We need extra help at the DX, so I was wondering if you could maybe work there?" Soda asked.
"Um sure, but when do I start?" I asked.
"Uh today, you'll also get your uniform today too" he replied.
"Alright" I said.
After I was done eating my breakfast I started to go get ready. I put on a white t-shirt and some old ripped blue jeans, I also put on my old worn out white converse. I walked out to the kitchen to get a glass of water. I saw Pony in the kitchen cleaning up his bowl from breakfast. I drank my water and walked back to the living room. When I walked into the living room the bathroom door came open to reveal Soda with a towel wrapped around his waist.
"Darry have you seen my DX shirt?" He asked.
"Uh in my closet" Darry replied.
Just as Soda was walking to Darry's room he accidentally dropped his towel.
"Ahhh!!" I screamed and hid behind Ponyboy who was standing behind me.
Soda just stood there looking at me with wide eyes.
"Soda get the towel!" Ponyboy told Soda. Soda picked up his towel and ran to Darry's room.
"You good Y/n?" Ponyboy asked me. I was still behind him hiding.
"I can't believe I just saw my best friend naked" I said not wanting to come out from behind Pony. He just laughed a little and turned around.
"Can I talk to you for a second?" He asked me.
"Sure" I said. I followed him to the kitchen.
"What's up?" I asked.
"Okay so I know what happened when we were only 14 but I still like you" he said. I couldn't believe what I just heard. Sure we had broken up when we were younger but I still kind of had feelings for him.
"You know Pony, I kinda like ya too" I said looking at the ground blushing.
"Well could you possibly be my girl again?" He asked.
"Yes I will Pony" I said running into his arms.
"I promise that we won't fight like we used to" Pony said hugging me.
"Okay" I said.
"You ready Y/n?" Soda asked coming into the kitchen.
"Yeah but are you gonna flash me again?" I said still shocked of what happened just a few minutes ago in the living room.
"No I won't Y/n, now let's go before we're late" he said.
Me, Steve, and Soda walked to the DX. When we got there I got my uniform and put it on in the bathroom.
We worked until our shift was over and I'm not going to lie, but today was a pretty good day. There were some people who actually needed their car fixed unlike most of the girls that came. They all just wanted to see Soda because of his looks, not his personality. Trust me if they actually got to know Soda, they would fall for him even harder. I used to have the smallest crush on him when I first came to Tulsa 2 years ago, but then I got over it cause then me and Ponyboy started dating. But anyways, other than all the girls coming just to flirt with Soda this day went pretty well.
We got home at around 6:30 in the evening and had dinner that Darry had made. We all had pretty interesting conversations. Mostly about how Two-but can't ever get a girl, some of the gang thinks it cause of his Mickey Mouse addiction or how he is a child in an 20 year olds body. (If you remember from chapter 11 when Y/n came back to Tulsa everyone got older. When Pony and Y/n we're 14 Two-bit was 18, but when Y/n came back after 2 years he turned 20).
I was really tired after dinner from the long day at work so I went to bed after saying goodnight to the gang.
"Goodnight!" I heard the gang say back but I was in my room by then.
I didn't even have the energy to change into some pajamas, so I just stayed in my DX shirt and jeans.
