Chapter 49

Seulgi felt that there was something wrong with Jimin. Recently he was quite cold but today something felt more off than usual. Seulgi shrugged to herself; she didn't want to think too much about it.

If he came on his own to see her then everything should be okay. She closed the front door and turned to look at Jimin who was heading upstairs.

She smiled and she went to the kitchen to pour a glass of wine before following him up.

Seulgi opened the bedroom door. "Jimin-"

Her words got caught in her throat when she noticed Jimin sitting in front of her laptop, her chat room tab open.

Seulgi paled,the glass of wine slipping from her hands and smashing onto the floor.

Jimin turned around on the swivel chair and looked at Seulgi disapprovingly, eyeing the mess of wine and broken glass on the floor.

Seulgi snapped out of her panicked trance, regaining her awareness.She
stepped over the broken glass and walked over to Jimin, creating a barrier between him and her laptop.

"Jimin, why are you using my laptop?" She smiled nervously.

Jimin leaned back on the swivel chair and narrowed his eyes at Seulgi."You look quite flustered."

"No,I'm not...."

Jimin turned his attention on the fragments of glass and spilled wine at the doorway. "What happened over there? Shouldn't you be cleaning it up instead of asking about your laptop?"
Jimin raised an eyebrow at Seulgi.

"I..I.." Seulgi stuttered, her eyes darting in between Jimin and the open laptop.

Jimin leaned forward,resting his elbows on his thighs."What are you hiding?"

Seulgi immediately reached behind her to hurriedly close her chat page and close her laptop. S

he smiled calmly at Jimin, placing her hands on his shoulders and massaging them lightly. "When do I have secrets? Don't you know all my secrets? Jimin, you know everything about me, what do I have to hide from you?" Seulgi laughed awkwardly.

She tugged at Jimin's grey coat lightly in an attempt to turn his attention away from the laptop. "You haven't showered right? You go take a shower first,I already prepared your pajamas, toothbrush, toothpaste. I have all the necessities because I hope you can use it every time you come by....." Her face looked somewhat modest. "Go take a shower okay? I will wait for you outside."

It had been quite a long period of time since her miscarriage accident.She thought that because Jimin came by to her place this late, he would definitely stay tonight. She wanted to grasp this chance to recover their relationship and make things the way they were before.

Jimin didn't budge, he just stared
intently at Seulgi as if waiting for
her to slip.

Seulgi shuddered slightly under Jimin's gaze, feeling anxious and slightly intimidated. "Jimin,what are you looking at? Do I have something on my face?"

"Do you know a person called Lee JaeSung ?" Jimin inquired, not breaking eye contact.

"JaeSung...." Seulgi's heart felt like
it was going to burst out of her chest
but on the surface she pretended to
be calm. "That famous entertainment
reporter? Of course, I know him.
Before I retired from the entertainment circle, he frequently liked to follow me around. There is no one in the entertainment industry that don't know him....His specialty is to expose people..."

Jimin's expression was complicated; Seulgi couldn't tell what he was thinking. He nodded."Hm, also including Chaeyoung's matter this time."

Seulgi's swallowed nervously and
grabbed Jimin's arm, a worried
expression appearing on her face.
"I've also heard some gossip about Chaeyoung, isn't it exploding these days? How is the Park family? How is Grandma? Is everything alright?" She frowned.

Jimin's lips curled up into a smile.
Maybe back then he would have believed this fake worry of hers, but
right now things have never been so
clear.

Seulgi was taken aback by Jimin's reaction. She let go of Jimin's arm,feeling panicked. "Jimin... Is everything... okay?"

Jimin broke out laughing, clapping his hands mockingly. "Your acting skill is indeed outstanding. This entire time you've managed to stay calm... Even faking worry for my family... If I didn't know about this, I'd definitely be deceived by you again."

Jimin shook his head, his laugh was replaced with a look of betrayal.  "I would have believed you were innocent.. Believed that you were unrelated to all this."

Seulgi's face scrunched up in fear. "Jimin, baby, what are you talking about...."

"You know exactly what I'm talking about!" Jimin shouted, glaring at her.

"It was all your doing right? You asked JaeSung to do it?"

"Do what?" Seulgi immediately denied. "How could you think like this? How could I know about Chaeyoung and Jeon Jungkook? I still don't understand what's happening...I...Jimin, you need to believe me...."

Jimin didn't respond, still looking at Seulgi with a hurt and angry look on his face.

The silence ate away at Seulgi,she could feel Jimin's gaze breaking her down by the second. It wasn't long before she cracked and finally burst. "Yes, I really hate Chaeyoung, she was the one who pushed me and made me lose my child...my first child. But even though I hate her so much, I will not do that kind of thing...."

Jimin pushed her away and once again opened her laptop, bringing up the chat page.He looked at the last person on her contact list.

Lee JaeSung.

Seulgi is a careful person, of course she never truly believed JaeSung. She
was afraid that he would screenshot
their conversation, and one day
publish it as an article, so she didn't
talk much in the chat room.

But there were several photos.
Seulgi had sent a photo of Chaeyoung and Jungkook from their Highschool.
JaeSung also sent her several photos that were taken at the airport.

JaeSung wasn't afraid that Seulgi would release this since he worked as paparazzi anyway, so it was his job. Because of this he didn't feel worried about sending her a few voice notes either.

Seulgi was frozen in her place; she couldn't stop Jimin as he played the voice note.

The moment the voice note played, it was instinctively JaeSung's voice. There was no mistake there.

Seulgi turned as pale as a sheet,her expression frozen in shock and fear. She wasn't sure what to say."Jimin, I...."

"Do you still have anything to say?" Jimin cut her off, his eyes cold and hateful.

It hit Seulgi that there was no longer anything she could do to hide. Jimin
already caught her with all the evidence, and it all pointed to her as the main culprit. There was no use denying it at this point.

Tears started flowing out, rolling down her pale cheeks. She looked down in silence as she cried.

Jimin looked at her in shock. After all the denying she did, he didn't expect to see her cry.

All these years, Seulgi always acted modestly and was very understanding in front of him. Basically she never did anything to provoke or irritate him.

This was the first time she did something like this.

Even when Chaeyoung said that she had suspicious at Seulgi and asked whether he believed her or not, Jimin sincerely hoped that it would not be her.

Despite many things, this woman had been by his side for a very long time, of course he trusted her.

When he heard JaeSung mention her name at the club, he felt really angry and betrayed.

Jimin sighed, leaning back on the chair. 'So it was her after all... It was all her.'

Chaeyoung was right.
