"Jimin...."
Seulgi reached over to pull Jimin's arm pleadingly. "I didn't want to do something like this but I really hate her...How could she be so ruthless to make me lose our child? I hate her so much...But I also hate myself for not being able to protect our baby."
Jimin sat in the chair and watched Seulgi cry in silence. He didn't say anything but he didn't push her away either.
Seeing Jimin's indifferent reaction to her tears, she felt anxious and directly hugged him instead. She fell down onto her knees and held onto his waist tightly, crying into his shirt.
"Jimin she killed our child! Shouldn't I be punishing her for that? Her life is getting better and better; everyone loves her, and even you are favouring her.She killed our child Jimin but you never said anything about it; you didn't even blame her! I have been discharged for a while now but you never even spent a night here with me..." Seulgi argued.
"Jimin, don't you know that I'm always waiting for you? Everyday, every hour, every moment I'm just waiting for you...I live unhappily, but what about Chaeyoung?" Seulgi's arms tightened around Jimin's waist, her tears soaking the front of his shirt. She was getting more and more emotional; a sight light this would have given most men heartache.
Jimin sighed, putting his hands on her shoulders.Seulgi lifted her head to look at Jimin, tears staining her cheeks.
"Jimin..." Seulgi whispered, loosening her grip around his waist.
At that moment, Jimin lightly pushed Seulgi away from him, turning the chair around to to the table to grab a few tissues from the tissue box.
"Wipe your tears." Jimin spoke calmly, passing her the tissues. His tone didn't sound particularly caring, and his expression still looked indifferent.
Seulgi took the tissues from his hands and wiped her face. She still felt someone insecure and tense;she couldn't tell what Jimin was thinking. Did he even listen to what she said?
Was he affected by her tears at all?
"Just go back to America." Seulgi looked up at Jimin in shock. Her eyes opened wide. She didn't expect to hear Jimin say that.
"You.... You want me to go back?" She stuttered.Seulgi was in disbelief that Jimin would resort to sending her away.
Jimin stood up from the chair, wiping his shirt with a tissue. "I will go to Jeju for a week." He replied, not looking at Seulgi. "When I come back,I hope that you would have already returned."
Seulgi had lived in America with Jimin for many years already;it was practically her home.Because they had lived there for so long she was already accustomed to the way of living over there. She didn't have any family in Korea anyway, so Jimin couldn't think of another reason why she should continue to stay here.
Jimin grabbed his car keys and turned to leave the bedroom, leaving Seulgi sitting on the ground in shock. Seulgi noticed him trying to leave, rushing to stand up and block the door. Before he could exit, she had already obstructed his path.
"You want me to go back because you're afraid that if I stay here I will hurt Chaeyoung right?" Seulgi cried.
Jimin looked straight at her. "It's for you, also for Chaeyoung. You need time to calm down, if you stay here the resentment in your heart will grow. Don't you like living in America anyway? Why are you staying here?" Jimin sighed and massaged his temples. "I won't waste anymore time arguing about this with you.. Pack your backs and go home Seulgi. If not then just go travel like you have always wanted.."
"But just don't live here right?" Seulgi cut Jimin off mid sentence, looking at him with sad eyes. "Chaeyoung hurt me physically, but I only hurt her through my words.. Why are you so biased?"
"Are you done?" Jimin's expression turned cold; he had lost his patience to continue to listen to Seulgi's excuses.
"Jimin..." Seulgi pleaded.
Seulgi once again tried to grab his arm, but this time Jimin pushed her away. He reached across her to onen the He reached across her to open the door, pushing past Seulgi to exit the bedroom. Seulgi struggled a bit, but no matter what she did she was unable to stop him from leaving.
Seulgi collapsed on the floor as Jimin pushed her to the side.
"Remember, a week."
Seulgi called after his disappearing figure. Picking herself up from the floor she chased after him, but Jimin had already left through the front door. She hurriedly opened the door hoping she'd catch him at the elevator but she didn't make it before it closed.
Seulgi hit the elevator door in frustration. She felt like the sky had just fallen down on her. Seulgi felt her body go limp as she fell onto her knees.
"Why are you like this to me? Why?" She sobbed. But there was nobody there to reply her.
-
SeoYun received Seulgi's call and she
frowned as she listened to her explain
what just happened with Jimin. She tidied something hurriedly and
prepared to go out. As SeoYun exited the house, she noticed Jimin's car pull
into the driveway.Jimin didn't park the car in the garage; instead he stopped in front of the door. Turning off the car he stepped out, frowning as he saw SeoYun hurry towards him with a sour expression on her face.
Jimin furrowed his brows in annoyance; Seulgi must have called her already.
SeoYun rushed over to Jimin looking
slightly panicked. "Jimin,I heard
that you asked Seulgi to go back to
America?""I asked her to leave this city." Jimin replied nonchalantly.
"Why did you say something like that?!" SeoYun immediately frowned,
glaring at Jimin. "After all the things
she has done for you..She just wanted
to come and look for you but now
you're asking her to leave? Park
Jimin, have you ever considered her
feelings?"Jimin wasn't happy with the way SeoYun was meddling with his personal businesses again. "This is between me and Seulgi, it has nothing to do with you. Mom,you care too much" Jimin responded coldly, earning an even angrier expression from SeoYun.
SeoYun was still unwilling to let it slide. She huffed in annoyance.
"Jimin, you cannot be like this to Seulgi.""Mom, you really are so kind to Seulgi. More than anyone else. Why don't you tell me why?" Jimin narrowed his eyes, looking at her accusingly.
SeoYun looked away. "I..."
Jimin pressed further. "Why aren't you ever this caring towards Chaeyoung and JaeMin?"
SeoYun turned her gaze back to Jimin. "What has Chaeyoung done for me to care about her?" Hearing Chaeyoung's name, SeoYun couldn't restrain herself from making a disapproving face.
"Then JaeMin? He is your grandson, but I have never seen you be nice to
him either. Does he even have a place
in your heart?"SeoYun was starting to get extremely annoyed with Jimin's questions. "What kind of nonsense are you talking about? How can I not have him inside my heart?"
She didn't want to continue this conversation anymore. SeoYun grabbed Jimin's wrist, trying to pull him back towards the car.
"Jimin, let's go back to Seulgi and talk it out. Just a moment ago she called me crying, and I'm afraid that she will do something foolish."
Jimin grabbed SeoYun arm and pried her hand off his wrist. "Mom, you should know that I dislike other people meddling in my business." Jimin smiled.
"Jimin, you...."
Jimin pushed past SeoYun and entered the house, not giving her another chance to keep speaking.
SeoYun sighed, rushing to her car. There was nothing she could do to convince Jimin right now, but she was worried about Seulgi so she let him go.
Chaeyoung exited the kitchen holding a glass of milk, making eye contact with Jimin. She smiled at him, not looking surprised at all.
He guessed that Chaeyoung must have heard their conversation. Jimin locked the door behind him, and smiled back at her.
"I'm home."
