CHAPTER 1:
Liliana Charlotte Seina Valencia
As I walked toward the locker area, having just entered the school and still feeling sleepy due to the early hour, I couldn't help but roll my eyes at the students staring at me. Their gazes were filled with a mix of curiosity and envy.
With my three bodyguards trailing behind me, I felt a bit like a celebrity. They stood tall and serious, adding an air of protection around me. Of course, I was the only child of my dad, and he took security to the extreme.
I scratched the back of my neck as I reached my locker, feeling a mix of annoyance and discomfort at the envious glances from my classmates. I really didn't like the way they looked at me, their eyes filled with jealousy because I had bodyguards-something they didn't. Sometimes, I wished I could just blend in and not attract so much attention. But with every step I took, I could feel the weight of their stares, as if my every move held greater significance. It was exhausting to think about how much their opinions seemed to matter, even if I tried to convince myself otherwise.
"We are really sorry, young miss, but we can't obey you. We are only following your father's orders."
"Lily!" I turned around when someone called my name, and my face instantly lit up.
It was Ashford and our two other friends. They were the only ones who could really tolerate my quirks. Hehehe. I mean, I'm nice, but I can be a bit slow and overly curious at times. They were my only friends because they truly understood me and were willing to put up with my antics.
Before they could get close, my bodyguards quickly stepped in front of me, blocking my friends. They looked ridiculous standing there, trying to act tough as they obstructed my friends' path! I couldn't help but roll my eyes, feeling a mix of embarrassment and amusement. I just wanted to laugh at the absurdity of it all, but at the same time, I felt a pang of frustration. Why couldn't they just let me talk to my friends?
"I'm sorry, but your dad has forbidden any guy from getting close to you."
