Y/n's POV

Running through the streets of the always busy London on a Wednesday with a cup of coffee in one hand and an umbrella in the other. The weather seemed to be against me, just like time was that morning. My watch showed 7:55 - I had to be at my workplace by 8 as usual, the place was at least 10 minutes of walk away from here.

I was working for a company that was all about finances and in a strong connection with the government. I got here almost two, after finishing my diploma in finances, this was the first place to call me back for an interview. I was an assistant for the boss of the company, Stirling Rogers for a couple of months. Then I got promoted to one of the finance experts - which I was more than happy about.

However, sometimes I felt lonely as the only women there. Until one of the greatest finance expert came along 6 months ago, Margot Tyrell. The woman was quite secretive and observant, considering her past as a former analyst of The Security Service (also known as MI5) of The United Kingdom. That's all anyone knew about her past in the office.

I finally made it to the huge building, running up to the closing elevator. Shit, 8:10 already - hopefully everyone is in their office and not looking for me. I hurried out of the metal box, into my office and thankfully no one was looking for me or my boss wasn't standing at my desk, looking angry (might have happened once, a bitch needs time to be this pretty in the morning).

I hardly took a sip of my coffee, when the glass door opened, revealing Josh - he was the manager for business meetings and such. "Hey, y/n! There'll be a meeting in 30" I rolled my eyes a bit, making the man chuckle "Thank you Josh!" with that he left, leaving me alone. I turned on my computer, started to work a bit.

On my way to the meeting, I saw Margo near the coffee machine. Like some sort of psyche, she already sensed me glancing at her, turning her head into my direction. I waved her on the way to the conference room, barely got a nod from the older woman. "Weird" muttering to myself as I sat down next to one of my great friends, Callie.

"What's weird?" asked the brunette next to me "I waved to Margo on the way here and her answer was the slightest nod I've ever seen" Callie just shrugged at my answer "Y/n, you know how she is. Always keeping distance, don't take it the wrong way" my friend was right but still, it just felt weird. The head of financial department came in, making everyone listen to him.

As the presentation went on, Mr. Rogers called up Ms. Tyrell for some ideas and documents in connection with out latest project. Then they went on about some government stuff but I couldn't concentrate as much as I haven't drink my first coffee or eaten anything besides some salad in the morning.

My eyes were almost closed as someone turned the light back on completely, making me jump a bit in my chair. I adjusted my skirt and blazer, got my notes in my hands and went out after my other colleagues, heading to the cafeteria - they actually served amazing food, I was the most surprised about that when I came here.

Another friend of mine, Samantha was sitting at one of the tables, scrolling through her phone. "Hopefully I won't disturb you" the other woman looked up to me with her blue eyes, registering who the hell dared to disturb her lunch break "You're the only one I'll allow to sit here, y/n" I chuckled and sat down in front of Sam.

After our 45 minute break, both of us went on separate ways - meaning our offices. I sat down at the computer, looking through more documents, doing analysis, answering some emails. A knock on my door made me look up, it was the former MI5 employee. "Come in!" the clicking of her high heels made me turn my chair towards her.

"I would like to get the files on the National Bank analysis" her standing there so steadily made me feel intimidated. I looked for the files in my cabinet, finally found it "Can I help you with anything else?" the brown eyes opposite to me made a movement looking me up and down for a second. "No, thank you!" I smiled, turning back to the computer.
