Y/n has graduated with a psychology degree. She's currently looking for a job as a doctor's assistant.
To her luck, some Dr. Hoffman looking for an assistant.

Y/n's POV

As I was waiting for my morning coffee to be ready, looking through the paper was the greatest option to spend my time. Some news were about killings, some where about politics. Thank god, my coffee was ready by now, because I was staring to get bored.

As I poured it into a cup, my phone started ringing. "Hello, y/n speaking" I sipped my coffee "I know, let's meet up for a brunch. I might have some great news for you" my best friend, Marie said then ended the call.

I quickly threw on some clothes, drank my coffee then went to our usual cafe/brunch place. Marie was already waiting for me there. After our hug, we went in and I ordered some pancakes, Marie asking for her usual sandwich with coffee.

"So, what are your news?" I took a piece of my pancake and I am immediately reminded why I fell in love with this place "So, you know my friend, Elizabeth, right?" I nodded, the woman was the owner of one of the biggest manor in Collinswood "Apparently, she hired a psychiatrist - Dr. Hoffman - the reason I'm unsure of. Anyways, the doctor is looking for an assistant as soon as possible" she drank the remaining of her coffee.

"Perfect! How am I supposed to aply to it?" I really wanted to have a job already "Well, she didn't mention anything specific, just a usual interview" Okay, I definitely should give it a try then. We payed for our food, took a walk, talking about everything in general (especially about other people).

I got home around 2 p.m. so I started to make myself lunch, just some spaghetti. After eating, I decided that I'm going to go to the Collins' mansion first thing in the morning, but for now, I'm going to take a huge nap (such a mood, y/n). When I woke up, it was already dark. Taking a bath, while reading a book seemed like the greatest idea.

The next morning I woke up a bit groggy, but I knew that I had to get myself together since I had to ace that interview. Had breakfast, took a shower, decided to wear a white shirt, mid length pencil skirt and black high heels, looking professional. Then I took a cab (let's pretend there were cabs at that time, thank you), because there was no way in hell I'll walk into my high heels.

I arrived at my destination and to be honest, the exterior of the building was a bit frightening. Looked abandoned to me, as I opened the huge gates of the property, then I knocked on the door 3 times. A shorter man opened the door ajar "What are you doing here?" I cleared my throat "I am here for the job interview for Dr. Hoffman" he was looking at me oddly, until I heard a woman speak up "Let the lady in Willy" I was let in and looking at the woman with blonde hair "I'm Elizabeth Collins, pleasure to meet you" she stretched her arm out for me, smiling "I'm y/n y/l/n, the pleasure is all mine" we shook hands.

"I'll be in my study, please tell me when Julia is awake" the servant nodded "Follow me, please!" Elizabeth led the way upstairs, explaining the structure of the manor - more floors I've ever heard of and countless rooms. "Apologies for not taking you directly to Dr. Hoffman for the interview, but I strongly believe she's still...asleep" she said with a slight chuckle "Don't worry, I don't have to be anywhere else today" she nodded and served me some tea.

We talked for about one and a half hour, Elizabeth asked me some questions about previous work experiences, some personal questions as well and she even told me about herself and her family - she has a daughter, Carolyn who is 16, and a brother named Roger. "I saw a huge portrait of someone in the hall, is that one of your close relatives?" I asked "His name was Barnabas Collins and yes, he was once the head of this family" as she got to the end of her sentence, there was a knock on the door.
