The next morning ruby woke up to smell of bacon and someone humming a tune. She rubbed her eyes so she could peak over the couch and see who it was. Standing behind the kitchen counter was jack who had been cooking up some breakfast. Ruby watched as jack sat there smiling to himself. She stood up from the couch and stretched her body.

Jack: glad to see you're awake.

Ruby: good morning. What are you making?

Jack: well I thought you'd like something to eat before going back to class. Truth be told I was also kinda hungry.

Ruby: thank you. Can I do anything to help?

Jack: nah I'm almost done. Just grab a seat and I'll serve you a plate.

After a few minutes jack turned off the stove and made two plates of eggs, bacon, hash browns and some toast. The two ate while they talked about classes.

Ruby: so do you actually go to any of your classes?

Jack: not really no. I only go in when I have to turn in something or when there's a test.

Ruby: how does that work? I mean how can you do the work but not be in class to learn the subject?

Jack: that's because I already know the stuff. When I used to live with my friends they taught me everything they were taught. So all the subjects are old news to me. Also ozpin knows I have a business to run so he gives me time to do so.

Ruby: that's amazing! No wonder your our top student.

Jack: meh. To be honest the top student thing isn't really true. I have good grades don't get me wrong and I do any missions I'm assigned but barely attend the school. I don't really consider myself a full time student.

Ruby: that makes sense I guess. Still, you do have the skills to call yourself the best.

Jack: what makes you think that?

Ruby: well you've been teaching us for the last few weeks and you've shown how strong you are on multiple occasions. There's also the fact that ozpin assigned you as our teacher.

Jack: I guess when you put it like that...I don't know I feel like the "title" doesn't really work that well with someone who doesn't even go to class.

Ruby: well I think it fits. Mmm thanks for the breakfast.

Jack: of course now let's get you back to your dorm before classes start.

Ruby: sounds good. Wait I just remembered! When are you gonna show off your new weapon?

Jack: I told you I'd show it today but you'll have to wait until later. I've got a little surprise in mind.

Ruby: sounds fun!

The two put their dishes away and rode the elevator back down. They got into jacks car and headed to beacon. After a bit of driving they made it to the front of the dorms where jack walked ruby back to her room.

Jack: so I'll see you later in class.

Ruby: are you gonna show off during our class with Glynda?

Jack: guess you'll have to wait and see. Now get ready for your classes.

Jack waved goodbye and made his way outside.
As jack stepped out of the dorms he noticed ozpin standing next to his car with a very upset Glynda.

Jack: if you need a ride I don't think you'd want me driving.

Ozpin: good morning jack. I believe you have some explaining to do.

Jack: look whatever you think I did i didn't do it.
