"Those who live in the dark are attracted to light"Jack POV
Jack: ugh....what the hell happened?
When I came to my head was pounding and my body felt heavy. As I opened my eyes I noticed not only was I pinned underneath a large tree but it seemed I had broken a few bones. I noticed the cliff side and realized what had happened.
Jack: fucking Grimm. Must've broke the tree on my way down.
I got my hand under the tree and lifted it up just enough to get out. My body was a little beaten up from the fall but I could at least walk. As for the bones I'll have to be careful with that.
Jack: wait, way down? Fuck! Where's the sword?
Searching my surroundings I couldn't spot the blade anywhere. That's when I caught a whiff of smoke in the air. The blade had gotten stuck in one of trees on the way down. The branch it was lodged into had caught fire while I was unconscious. If I don't put it out soon it will start a Forrest fire.
Jack: great. Trouble just seems to follow me no matter where I go.
I began climbing as fast as my battered body would let me. When I reached the blade It was a little tough to get out but with a good tug it came out just fine. I jumped back down and turned my attention to the small fire.
Jack: now to put that out. Ok just like before. Concentrate on the flame and bind it to the blade.
I held the blade out in front of me while I focused my mind on the flames. The blade started to glow a soft red as the flames above wavered in it presence. With a little effort I pulled the flames from the tree and stored them inside the blade.
Jack: I guess I can still do it. It's still doesn't call to me like it did to him but I can still use it's power. This training is turning into more trouble then it's worth.
I looked up at the steep mountain side deciding I would just walk around it. If I walk it should only take an hour or two.
Jack: (sigh) I hate Grimm.
Speak of the devil and he shall appear. The fire combined with my sudden fall must've brought some unwanted attention because I can see several sets of glowing red eyes.
Jack: when this is all over I'm taking a vacation. Somewhere nice and tropical. Fuck even atlas sound better then staying with these brats.
Reaching for my shotgun I felt only an empty holster. I forgot I left it in my car. I can't use the sword either, it's too dangerous. That means my only option is...
Jack: running away.
Not giving the Grimm time to attack I ran like hell. If I stay and fight I could risk setting the entire Forrest on fire. If I can make it too my car then I can even the playing field.
Jack: I gotta start bringing a backup weapon.
I mostly followed the mountain side as a direction to follow but it didn't seem like I was near my car at all. It also doesn't help that the Grimm are increasing in numbers. As I run I see more Grimm at every turn. Some are even catching up to me. Out from the left side a Beowulf swiped. at me.
Jack: oh no you don't.
Kicking off a tree I was able to get high enough in the air to kick the Beowulf away. It made hurt whimpering sound as it crumpled to the ground.
I continued to run but more and more of the Grimm started to appear. They eventually started blocking my path as they seemed to pop out of nowhere.
