Jacks POV

We had just arrived outside the cafe where a large neon sign lit up the city street. When we noticed the cafe was pretty busy. stepping up to the doors we realized that it was extremely busy. a waitress walked by the front door and noticed us standing there. she was a little taller then some of the girls but still shorter than me and yang, long white hair, her eyes were metallic blue, but her most notable feature was her large white tail protruding from her back. I couldn't help but feel she was oddly familiar.

waitress: sorry ill be right with you.

she then walked off into the crowd of customers leaving us to talk about if this was worth it or not.

Weiss: this place is way too busy. its probably going to take about an hour before we can get seated.

ruby: pshh! it's not that bad.

yang: sorry ruby, but I'm going to have to agree with Weiss here. I don't know if I want to wait an hour just to get some coffee and a cookie.

ruby: but....what about you blake?

ruby turned her eyes to blake hoping for some sort of comfort or back up but instantly realized that she would find none.

blake: sorry ruby. maybe next time?

ruby looked destroyed. it almost made me laugh, to be honest. then I saw her face light up in joy as an idea struck her mind. seriously it was like watching someone get hit with a brick. her face whipped around to look at me.

jack: no not happening.

ruby: please!

jack: no no no.

ruby: please please PLEASE!

jack: ruby I swear to-

waitress: ok sorry about that. hi, my name is melony. Ill be your waitress for the day. would you like to wait for a table?

ruby: yes plea-

I covered ruby's mouth before she could answer her question and nodded at yang. she stepped forward and began asking the waitress the necessary questions.

yang: hi we were just wondering why it was such a busy day for your cafe and also how long would it take to get seated?

melony was a little embarrassed at first but eventually pulled her self to answer.

melony: well its sort of my birthday today and my family owns this place so they wanted to do a special birthday at the cafe. it's just mostly family and friends of the family. there are still customers so don't feel like its a private event or something. as for the wait its about 45 minutes.

ruby started licking my hand get to let go. it worked.

ruby pulled my hand off and looked at the rest of us with hope.

ruby: see that's not that bad!

melony: to an hour.

ruby: nooo-

I covered her mouth up once again.

jack: how are you so loud?

yang: dang. well, thanks for the invitation but I think we'll be one our way.

the girls had just started talking about leaving when melony and I had a moment of eye contact. something must have clicked for her because her eyes widened in realization.

melony: it's you.

jack: do we know each other?

we stood there a moment longer before Weiss asked what was going on.
