Chapter 5

When Sophie woke up she was in her bed and saw Fitz laying next to her
opening his eyes. She looked up and saw Grady and Edaline, Della and Alden, and Elwin. No Bianna, Dex, or even Keefe. She turned and looked into Fitz's eyes and her heart did the fluttery thing.

Alden spoke when both of them looked up "Whatever you guys did, it uh, was
pretty powerful." "Powerful?" Sophie and Fitz both questioned at the same time. "Yes, it was so powerful that it "excited" part of your brain, and created what Elwin calls a brain tide. That one part of your brain that got super excited ignited with the other brain and rushed through your entire body." Sophie was reading Alden and Elwin's thoughts so she knew what fully happened. She knew it was invading, and not allowed, but they weren't being specific, and they were quite scared about it, they were shaking in terror obviously to shocked still to be able and explain nicely,Thankfully no body knew they kissed and she wanted it to stay that way. So to prevent Fitz from saying anything about it she sent messages through Fitz's mind and they had a conversation. Fitz nodded to her and that was it.

Sophie told Fitz the rest of what Alden didn't, but he didn't want to make them
suspicious so he asked anyway "So what's up with the power rushing through our bodies, what happened?" "Well you see, when energy this strong rushes through your entire body, it hits where your power spot is, and that doesn't react good. It gave you a power you cannot control- you both created a strong wind knocking you over, which knocked you out." Alden explained.

"So basically we can control the weather?" Sophie asked. Elwin sighed and said
"Yes you are both Gusters. I don't know what you did, but it was quite the energy it got you." Sophie glanced at Fitz the same time he glanced at her. "Yeah, sorry though, I don't remember what we did" Sophie said, and Fitz followed along "Me neither, sorry Elwin." "Oh it's fine, but I honestly think it'd be your parents who would more want to know. Fitz and Sophie both looked at their own parents. They had worried expressions on their faces, mainly Della, probably because nothing like this had ever happened before to Fitz.

"Well," Fitz started "Guess we better start learning how to be Gusters" he
finished. Grady sighed "yep, yet another power you have to control." Sophie now had 5 powers. She had to learn how to control guster, inflicting and telepathy, polygot was automatic so she didn't really need to learn it, and her basic power telepathy. "Sorry guys, wish we could tell you what happened" Sophie said. All of the adults sighed and finally Alden said "No, it's fine, it isn't your fault."

When Sophie and Fitz climbed out of the bed, all of the adults left. Sophie looked
down at Fitz's hands as he grabbed hers. "Fitz, what do we do? We-" Sophie said "We can't just, ignore what happened" She finished. "I know, but I'm afraid that if we do anything like that again, then, something worse will happen." Fitz said. Sophie put her arms around his waste and hugged him tight, she didn't know what else to do, if she kissed him again, something bad might happen, and the adults would get suspicious. Why didn't this happen when Keefe kissed her? In fact, why didn't this happen more often to other elves? Sophie felt sick, she didn't want to think about it anymore.

Sophie layed down in bed and Fitz tucked her in. They chatted for a while in her
room. When Edaline walked in with Sophie's dinner though, he left to go home. She finished her dinner, got ready for bed and fell asleep with Iggy.
