Sophie awoke the next morning. She got dressed for school, wearing the red dress, and the jewelry she had planned to wear the day before when she was with Fitz. She ran downstairs to get some breakfast, and head out for school at Foxfire, she had a test today, and she was afraid she might explode something. Sophie was hoping she wouldn't, because she'd practically been studying with Fitz the entire time the school was open for them to stay there. She thought that she had it down, but she could never be too sure of it. When she got downstairs, she heard, "mm this smells great! I bet Sophie, and Grady, will love it!" She realized it was Edaline's thoughts. She had still been hearing their thoughts since she'd hit her head again. Edaline's thoughts had started to give her a headache, it wasn't just the single elpf's mind, bit she hadn't been hearing tons of thoughts all day for a while, and now for a few days she had been again. Her body wasn't used to it, and even before with the humans it gave her headaches. Sophie would think a few days wouldn't hurt, but it did. Then while trying to cover her ears, even though she knew it didn't help, she bumped her head with her hand. All of Edaline's thoughts vanished. She was relieved, but also scared. She tried to read Edaline's mind, but could, nomatter how hard she tried. This was becoming like an on and off switch now, and it was annoying Sophie.

Sophie still couldn't figure out what was happening to her, and when she lightly bumped the same part of her forehead again, nothing happened. She decided to tell Edaline, and Edaline didn't know what was going on. She hailendAlden to see if he knew, and his response was, "Oh dear, I do fear I know what had happened, and I will be right over with Elwin." Alden explained ending the call. Sophie couldn't stop think oh great, now I'm getting another doctor visit, why does my life have to be full of pain, making me end up in situations I hate being in? Moments later Alden was at the door, with Elwin.

Edaline invited them in as Grady came down, and served himself a helping of the breakfast. "Hellos Sophie, Alden and I were dreading this day." He said. "Oh, I dread every time I have to get medical help." Sophie replied. Elwin gave her a weak smile, "yeah, I'm sorry about that, but really, it isn't the time to joke around this is seri-" Elwin was stopped from continuing his sentence.

"Sophie! I fixed the iPod! I found a not w inside though! When I was fixing it, I stumbled upon this! Don't worry, I haven't read it because I figured that it was for you." Said Dex dashing in and heading towards her. He held up a whit folded slip of paper. On the top was the sign of Blackswan. Dex reached Sophie, but before Sophie could take it, Grady raced over to their side. He quickly snatched it from Dex's hand. "Uncle Grady!" He shouted and sighed at the same time. Sophie looked up at Grady. He carefully inspected the cover of it, and huffed. He opened it up, and examined over the letters. "Grady..." She heard a soft voice say. Which came from Edaline. "I don't trust the Blackswan!" He shouted out, still looking over the note. "This is stupid!" He shouted as he folded the note back up, and handed it to Sophie sighing. Edaline gave Sophie a sad smile.

Grady looked over to Sophie, "Don't go any where, but you can read that note." He said, and then stalked off. Dex budged her to read it.

The note read:

With friends of many,
And their lends of many,
You will find the power,
But do not cower,
Do not fear,
For this task, not so mere,
From afar, we will protect you,
But Keep wary eyes.
We share no lies,
You can be harmed,
If you are not armed,
Or ready,
To use your abilities.
Don't let emotion stop you,
But do let this clue,
Help you on the way.
But you may no longer stay.

Sophie read the note aloud for everyone to hear. "But, Uncle Grady!" Dex shouted, "It says no longer must she wait!" He argued. "I said, Sophie will not leave the house, I don't care if they have proven to be trust worthy... I don't want her getting hurt... And last time she took Silveny... She almost got herself in grave trouble... I could care less what happened to me, but she could have gone to exile!" Grady said starting to walk away. "Last I checked, she didn't need Silveny, or any other animal, just her, and her friends." Keefe said, smirking. "Well, I'm sure your parents also don't want you to go." Grady said looking at Fitz, Biana, and Dex. Keefe flinched. "Grady!" Edaline shouted, and she ran over to Keefe, and then squeezed his hand, as did Fitz to his shoulder instead. "It's okay. I'm fine." Keefe said. "Fine, I won't go, come on guys, it's fine, don't worry." She said sighing, and started to walk to the door so she could say good bye to her friends. Dex gave an astonished look. Fitz and Biana gave her sad looks, and she couldn't determine Keefe's look. Edaline and Grady walked upstairs to their bedroom. Keefe walked to the door to leave first. Before he left he said, "So, when and where are we going to meet up to sneak out to go on Blackswan's little mission? I'm assuming you will know where to start... Correct?" Keefe asked. "No!" Sophie whisper-screamed (ooo I'm going to call it wheamed from now on), she looked back down at the note. "Fine" she sighed, and Dex started to jump up and down at this.
