Sofia's grandmother always said life was like a cardhouse. You spent hours trying to make a house that could barely hold a feather. Then, just before you finished it a puff of wind would come through and ruin your work. Then, you'd start again and the cycle would continue endlessly.

It all started back in Freshman year. Sofia was 14 and immensely overweight and she had grown sick of being that way. That year she decided that she had to lose the weight and she knew how to do it. She would cut her carbs down immensely and begin to exercise. And that's exactly what she did. And over the course of a year and a half the pounds fell off. What motivated her to begin this transformation was really her feelings. She knew she didn't love herself enough and hoped losing weight would help with that.

She was beginning to build her cardhouse.
