Sofia and Sara entered into the large building where men and women mingled, ate, and danced. They entered the crowd and almost immediately were split up. "Sara?" Sofia called trying to find her friend. She felt someone bump into her causing her to fall into someone's arms. "Sorry!" she said and moved back a few steps.
The man glared at her. "You could watch where you're going.
"It was an accident." Sofia glared back.
"An 'accident'" He his hands went up to hold up quotations when he said accident.
"You can't do that!" Sofia said surprising both herself and the guy.
He stared at her. "Why not?"
Sofia's expression went blank. "I don't know, but I've wasted enough time." she turned around.
The man stood beside her. "Isn't this the part where you storm off?" He asked.
Sofia sighed. "I was never one for storming off, besided I need to find someone."
The man smiled. "And who are you looking for?" he asked emphasizing you.
Sofia turned to look at him. "My friend." She turned away from him, having spotted Sara. "If you'll excuse me." Sofia walked off and tapped Sara on the shoulder. "Where'd you go?" Sofia asked.
"Excuse me?" a girl asked.
Sofia immediately realized it wasn't Sara's voice. "Oh sorry, you and my friend are dressed really alike, like exactly alike."
"Oh!" the girl exclaimed. "You must be looked for my twin Sara! I'm Sydney." she smiled. "I saw Sara over by the desert table earlier." Sydney began to lead Sofia off.
At the desert table, they walked over to Sara. "Oh my gosh!" She exclaimed. "Where did you go?"
"I got lost." Sofia said.
"The more important question is 'Why didn't you tell me you had an awesome new friend Sara!'" Sydney asked angry.
"Sorry Syd, I met her today at work and didn't have time." Sara said.
"I'm Sofia." Sofia said after they looked at her for a second.
"Okay, so omg I saw you talking to Anthony. I think you held his attention longer than anyone ever has. Like ever." Sydney said grabbing a small chocolate.
"You were talking to Anthony?" Sara looked surprised.
"Yes?" Sofia responded carefully.
"Oh my gosh! What if he likes you!?" Sara asked.
Sofia laughed. "I highly doubt that, he seemed annoyed by my very existence."
Sydney and Sara exchanged a look. "We'll be back." they said simultaneously.
"Wait!" Sofia called, but they had already melted into the crowd. With nothing else to do Sofia started over to the food tables. She grabbed a glass of water before a familiar person appeared next to her.
He stared at her. Sofia rolled her eyes and turned away. She sipped her drink and almost choked. The man let out a laugh. "Never had Gin before?"
Sofia turned hard eyes on him. "No!" She sat the drink down angry and turned to leave.
The man caught her arm and held out a drink to her. Sofia took a sip and realized it was water. "See the sign?" He asked pointing to a sign marked 'non-alcoholic'.
"Thanks." Sofia said and turned again to go.
"Hold on." He said catching her arm again. "You could at least dance with me."
