I look at Deadshot. He stared at the terrain around us. We were told by my Dad's messengers to meet him at the boat docks. Just me and Deadshot. Of course the rich kid wanted to stay and help, but something flipped in Deadshot's brain. He went off on him, as if he just spit on his Dead father's grave. I had to rip Deadshot off of him, praying that he wouldn't hurt me in the process. The last thing I ever wanted to do was contact my father, he ruined me. He was going to teach me his practice the day before I ran away from home. Somehow, I knew this would be a necessity, first, finding Annie is a big plus. Also, maybe finding her will fix whatever is wrong with Deadshot. Before all of this shit, Deadshot acted like he was playing poker, never revealing what he was thinking or doing. Now, his emotions are out of control. Kind of like when you are first in love, every little thing can set you off, whether its flirting with the waiter or not feeling up for a movie.
"Deadshot, you ever been out with someone?" I look at him.
"I've had my share of women in my bedroom, I guess you could say" He smirked.
"No I mean, going out to get a drink, and NOT taking her home? Or seeing her the next day" I shake my head.
"Well, I don't know? Why?" He scanned the shore.
"I am going to say that Annie is the first chick you've ever had real feelings for?" I smile.
"Let's not talk about that" He keeps walking.
"Why?" I stop walking forward.
"Because she is at the bottom of the ocean, and I can't do anything about it" He turns and looks at me. "And I believe that I will never see her again"
"You wanna know what I believe? I believe that no one will ever get anywhere with that attitude, especially out of the ocean. I also believe that Annie hasn't given up, I believe that she spends every moment she is alive thinking about you and then she opens her eyes and gets back up fighting. Because that's who she is, and who she believes in" I smile. He just kept walking, he attempted to act like he ignored what I just said. He looked back at me.
"Thanks, Will" He smiled sincerely and kept walking. In the distance, I saw what looked like an army.
"What is that?" Deadshot stared.
"My dad" I sighed. The wide range of people approached us.
"Is he like an army general?" Deadshot glanced back at me.
"No, he is just rich, but acts like an army general" I spit into the sand. The line of people are in yelling range. They have weapons. The people seem to have gotten down on one knee. They arm their rifles towards us.
"Run!" Deadshot yelled.
"Fire!" A deep voice yelled. Deadshot practically dragged me to safety.
"Your dad is an asshole" Deadshot breathes out.
"I am fully aware of this" I shake my head. Quieter voices become louder and louder. Somebody's on the other side of the rock. Deadshot looks at me and puts his finger to his mouth. Telling me to be quiet. He reaches over the rock and grabs somebody. Pulling them into the sand next to us. They began to wrestle. At first Deadshot was winning, and then, almost like super strength, the soilder started choking Deadshot. I look over at the soilder's gun. I pick it up quickly and bring the butt of the gun on his head. The man continues to choke Deadshot. That should of knocked him out. I bit my lip and aimed the gun at his head. I really don't want to kill him, but I don't want him to kill Deadshot. I was seconds from hitting the trigger until a voice interrupted me.
"Now, K11, get off of our guest" It was my dad. The buff man stands up and backs away. Deadshot began inhaling loudly. I looked back at the man who ruined me. His face just like I remember it. Full of hate and greed.
