I use the paddle to propel the boat forward. "So what's this time like?" Annie asked quietly, trying to break the silence.
"We have these phones. You can talk to anyone in the world with it right from your couch. I don't have one. I'd rather not talk to you about it, it's hard to comprehend" I shake my head.
"Look, if this is about earlier. I'm sorry" Annie frowns.
"I'm tired" I toss her the paddle. She takes her turn to push the boat. The ride felt like forever. We finally dock on Ellis Island. I jump out and grab her hand. I help her on the rocks. We began looking around the small island. I walk around the Statue of Liberty. I find a small button located on the back.
"Hey, I found it!" I shouted. Silence. I peak my head around the corner and see she is nowhere in sight. "Annie?!" I yelled loudly. I started getting flashbacks of swiming above the water. Lighting flashes and I'm fighting the currents.
"Annie!" My view switches every few seconds from the real world then to the memory.
"I'm sorry. I love you!" I yelled loudly. Suddenly, everything goes dark. I wake up in a small cell. I'm laying on the cold floor. The cell was filled with rust. Blood soaked the floor. I felt my head. Dried blood crackled across my hair. I sat up quickly. Where am I? I stepped forward. There was a concrete wall about two feet from the wall. A man walks in front of the bars. It was a man in a beige uniform, Nazi symbols covered his sleeve. My captor. I blink and it becomes a whole other person entirely. The man who was my boss at one point.
"General Woodstock?" I cocked my head. He was almost dead. Older than dirt.
"The one and only" He coughed out.
"I thought you died when the base was bombed" I stuttered out. I thought for a second. "Why do you have me in here?" I asked.
"The ultimate plan. I've been planning this for a long time" He grinned revealing rotten teeth.
"What is the plan, Woodstock?" I gritted my teeth.
"Immortality. Immortality, my friend" He smiled widely. Everything suddenly made sense.
"You.... You bombed the base" I dropped to my knees. "You murdered my wife..... My kids.... Everything I had" I hung my head down. I lunged forward and beat on the bars. I yelled out. Tears streamed down my face. I fell to my knees once more. I sobbed.
"Now that you're done with that little tantrum. Let me continue. Anyways, I found out about your little prophecy. Yada yada, blew up a bunch of people. Fake my death. Blah blah blah. Waited until Mrs. Winchester was found. Then my plan went into action, kidnapped your friends. And led you two into a trap" Woodstock waved his hand as he talked.
"You can't do it. The person who can wield the power must be chosen" I smile through bloodied teeth.
"That's where you're wrong, my friend. Yes, this God of yours can choose someone. But if someone else was to drink the initial blood, they'd get the power" He grinned. My smile slowly turned into a dark frown.
"Now, I need information" He smiled perkily.
"I'm not saying anything" I sat down on the floor.
"Just as I thought" He waves his hand and two guards rush in and grab me. I kick and shout. But it's no use. Of course I still fight anyways. They strap me to a table. My vision flashes again. The same Nazi man stands over me. He slices a line down my stomach. My vision fades back and Woodstock is standing over me. I look down at my stomach. I'm fine. "I thought I'd lost you forever when they took you as a prisoner. Luckily, you came crawling back to this city once you escaped" He grinned. "Alright, down to business" He clapped loudly. "I have 2 from my understanding. The beauty and the brawns. The brains is still out there. At first I thought that girl, Athen. Is it? But I realized she wasn't insane. So I need the real Brains" He shook his head. I spit at his face. He wipes it off, disgusted.
"Fine" He grabs the knife off the table and cuts down my arm.
"You'll have to do better than that. I've been through worse" I sneer. He takes the knife and cuts from my cheek to the middle of my neck. He ripped my shirt off and cut an X in my chest. I yelled out. He cut me several other places. I didn't give him the pleasure of hearing me scream.
"This is getting nowehere" He rolled his eyes. Woodstock flipped his hand. The wall behind him became translucent. Like a window. On the other side sat Annie. Her hands were bound to the arms of the chair. Her ankles were tied to the leg of the chairs. They bound her mouth so she couldn't talk.
"What are you doing?!" I began shaking the cuffs that tied me to the table. Annie began rocking the chair. Woodstock pointed at the masked man. He took a knife and cut her cheek. Annie stifled her scream. "S-stop" I stuttered out. He pointed again. The man cut a line down her chest. Annie yelled out loudly. She shook the chair. She looked me in the eyes. "I'll tell you where she is!" I yelled out. Annie shook her head.
"No! No! No!" She yelled through the mouth bind.
"I'm sorry" I hung my head down.

*view of Annie*
No. He doesn't realize it. But he just condemned us all to death. I watched as the man closed the window. I could hear muffled speaking. A few minutes later the door opens. They throw Deadshot into the room. He crawls to me and quickly unbinds me from the chair. He had bandages on. They treated his wounds. He puts his hands around my face.
"Are you okay?" He asks quietly.
"I'm fine" I wince.
"You're bleeding badly" He rips the already torn hoodie open. He grabs the rag and dabbed the wounds. I wince in pain. He kneeled down on one knee. I moved the in half hoodie so he couldn't see anything. I saw him glance that direction, but he didn't seem to care. He cared more about cleaning my wounds. I grabbed his hand and pushed it down. He looked up at me confused. I put my hand on the bottom of his chin. I pushed him up into my lips. Our lips finally made contact. He kissed me passionately. Suddenly, all at once, everything came back. I saw jumping from building to building. Almost dying in the desert. The train robbers. The secret meetings. The outhouse. The sex. The boat. Him trying to save me. I don't remember dying over and over again, what once devastated my mind, no longer exists. I opened my eyes again. Deadshot was still kissing me. He pulled back.
"What's wrong?" He asked confused.
"That's the thing. Nothing. Nothing is wrong" I lunged forward and kissed his lips. He almost fell backwards. I played with his hair as we locked lips. I could feel his smile through the kiss.
"We need to clean your wounds" He smiled as he continued to kiss me. I held him in my arms. I leaned back.
"You're right, we have to save Will" He leaned forward and planted one last kiss on my lips.
"Alright" He smiled. He finished bandaging me up. He walked over and banged on the door. They slid it open and stared inside.
"What?" A deep voice bellowed out.
"Tell Woodstock that I cleaned her up" Deadshot frowned. The guard left and came back with handcuffs. He individually handcuffed Deadshot and I. They walked us out onto a platform outside. Two cars pulled up. I gave Deadshot an worried expression. He smiled, showing his teeth. He had a key clenched between his jaws.
"Put them in separate cars" The general frowned. I could see panic in Deadshot's eyes. He lunged forward and kissed me. He slipped the key to my mouth. He went back to place solemnly.
"Escape. Save yourself" Deadshot mouthed. I shook my head wildly. They shoved Deadshot into the back of a car. It was like a small cell on wheels. He hit the bars, shouting. They shoved me into a different cell. I accepted my fate and sat down on the cold metal floor.
