"I can't do it!", Iris had cried."You will do it", Pekka snarled into her ear, placing the gun in her hand and pointing it at the man in front of them.
"But...but he's kind! He gives out sweets!", eleven year old Iris had stuttered as she glanced down wide eyed at the contraption placed in her hands.
"He stole from me. From us. He's hurt people Iris he is not kind"
The young girls hands shook in terror, the tangible silence crushing her skull, squeezing her brain and shutting off her soul.
"Just pull the trigger... and shoot"
~~~~
Iris wrenched her eyes open gasping for air and glanced blearily about the dim room she lay in. Her head ached and black spots clouded her vision. Her throat was dry and the taste of blood still lingered. She'd been here before.
"Didn't think to give me a tour first Brekker? Straight to the bedroom hey?", she croaked at the darkened figure behind the curtain as she shifted uncomfortably in the rope that bound her hand to the table leg.
"Hello Zusak", Kaz slipped into the room followed by the Zemeni boy from beforehand and a girl that walked as if gravity did not define her.
"Is this a mob arrest... or something? Your wallet wasn't even that nice Jesper", Iris raised her eyebrows with a smirk ignoring the demon who's presence strangled the atmosphere in the room.
"How do you know my-"
"Let's save the small talk darling and just... get to the point"
"How does it feel?", Kaz butted in.
"Hmm?"
"How does it feel to be the one on the ground, in pain, while others look on and laugh", he snarled, leaning over the girl who was cuffed to a table leg. The binds had obviously been secured by Jesper for they were messy and uneven, the product of carelessness and gentleness.
"Quite comfortable", Iris shrugged with a wry smile. "You have... a lovely home"
"Thank you. The furnishings are brand new", Kaz growled mockingly.
"My eyes were closed"
Kaz leant forwards, getting closer to the girl, not so close he would feel repulsion but close enough that he could mock her position.
"I hope you're happy", she snarled at him. "I hope you're proud of this, of what you've done", she spoke gesturing with her head towards her hands.
"Yes. Yes I am", Kaz smirked. "Although, one thing does make me upset about this situation"
"And what is that?", Iris rolled her eyes.
"I wasn't there to witness it"
"Bastard"
"Snake"
The pair glared at each other for a long pause, so long that Jesper and Inej glanced at each other wondering if they had frozen in time as if they should intervene. Iris gritted her teeth, a product of deceit and wrath while Kaz's face painted a familiar expression of savagery.
"Inej. Water", Kaz gestured with his hand still staring deep into the girls eyes. Those inexplicable eyes.
Inej nodded and rapidly scampered over to the pitcher that lay on the table, pouring with soft gentle tips, she rushed over and handed it to Iris' free hand. She gasped softly as she saw the ravaged skin and the bloodied mess that the girls hand once was. Gripping it softly Iris gave a wince and Inej looked up into her eyes before rushing from the room, searching for anything to help heal the poor girl. She pitied her truly, Kaz's hatred for Pekka Rollins dug deep and he would happily stretch it and meld it into a weapon to destroy her.
