The training we had to undergo was diverse, from curing a simple cold to learning how to properly treat a patient who had lost a limb. The training lasted about 2 to 3 years, people slowly disappearing as the training gradually began to escalate. This brought down the number of Nurse Candidates from 158 to 87. I had managed to become top of the course, earning myself a bit of 'fame' as one might see it. With my skill, I earned an automatic spot in the Association.

It was our graduation day, and everyone was buzzing around in excitement. We were receiving our uniforms and Rank badges. Emmeline and I were sitting in the dining quarters when they called us outside into the small pavilion they had set up especially for today.

" I can't wait to see what kind of ranks we qualified for! " Emmeline squealed as we sat down together not too far from the podium.

" I'm sure we got something decent. " I rejoiced, smiling warmly at her enthusiasm.

" Congratulations to all of you that have made it this far into the Scout Regiment's Nurse Association Course! " Someone yelled, drawing everyone's attention to the podium. " Today is a very special day. You all will receive your licenses, official Rank Badges, and, of course, your Uniforms! " Everyone clapped and hollered excitedly. " Let's begin! " Emmeline patted my arm in anticipation as the Director of the Association stepped onto the podium, holding a stack of documents in her arms.

" Greetings, everyone. I'm so very happy to be here today to celebrate the graduation of all of you outstanding to-be nurses! Now, let's begin with an honorable mention. " Emmeline shook me violently as the woman organized her papers. " This young lady has earned the title of Best in Class, for not only has she shown her love of nursing through her commitment and skills, but additionally by her respect and contribution to the Nurse Association. Let's give a hand to Ms. Tiffany Le'Varge, for earning her position as an Emergency Medical Assistant! " Everyone clapped loudly, Emmeline cheered as I stood up and made my way to the podium. The woman handed me a neatly folded uniform, along with a small diploma and 2 badges to pin on my uniform collar. One was of the Scout Regiment's Insignia and the other an engravement of a cross, with the Wings of Freedom in the background. I looked out to the small crowd of people as they cheered for me, pride swelling in my chest. I had waited for this moment forever, and it was finally here. Emmeline hollered the loudest, clapping and cheering as I gave a slight bow to everyone. Walking off, people patted me on the back, congratulating me for my grand accomplishment. So on the ceremony went, people receiving their uniforms with pride. That night, there was a huge party between all of us graduated nurses, drinks like Wine and Champagne and provided for us in small portions. I didn't drink much of the wine, but Emmeline was stumbling all over the place by the end of the night.

The transition into the Nursing Department was unimaginable. At first, we wouldn't get as much as 3 soldiers at a time, with only minor wounds and injuries. But after huge expeditions, the department would be flooding with wounded men and women, nurses rushing everywhere to help save their lives. Us new recruits began with part-time shifts, as the Nurse Association wanted us to slowly get used to the long hours we would have to work daily. Emmeline and I would work together to pass out supplies to nurses in the office, helping take care of minor wounds.

News of a miraculous nurse began to spread among the soldiers of the Regiment. Recently, I had attended to a dying solider, who's only wish was to hear her mom's singing one last time. Unfortunately, the mother couldn't make it on time, so I took up to the challenge and sang to her myself as she passed in my arms. The rest of the soldiers in the room must have been stunned, for not only were the Scouts talking about my nursing abilities, but my voice as well.

Soldiers would recognize me instantly, saluting and thanking me for my service. I never saw Nursing as a big thing in the Regiment, and we were barely noticed by the normal townspeople at all. The most recognition we would get publicly would be scowling from wealthy business men, overhearing them mutter about paying for Scout Expeditions and the extra Nursing Supplies. I would never take their horrible comments to heart, but some did, which didn't help the rumors and complaints. Although I had never been outside of the walls, I could only imagine how dangerous it was out there, judging by the nasty wounds some soldiers would arrive at the Nursing Department with. I would only hear rumors and stories about how great some of the soldiers were out in the battlefield, battling the monstrous titans with their weapons.
