I sighed.

" I'm not surprised, to be honest with you. " I replied. " She most likely wanted to rid herself of any obstacles in the path to fame. " The Captain reluctantly agreed.

" Thankfully, the dose wasn't enough to cause serious issues. Emmeline commented, showing me the amount Pearl checked out from the front desk.

" . . .So what do we do now?- " I asked them.

Silence.

" We could knock some sense into her- "

" No! That's not necessary! "

" Another court case would look bad on us, especially right after we've had one. " Emmeline intervened, disrupting a possible fight.

" I say we just report her to the association. . .maybe to someone in the front desk or something. " I shrugged. This situation just kept on getting messier and messier, draining me of problem solving skills.

" That might work, but there might be a chance that they won't even bother to look into the situation. " Emmeline was right. I rubbed my temples in frustration as another pause engulfed the three of us. The Captain got up without a word, and walked off in the direction of the front desk. I gave Emmeline a worried glance. What was he up to this time? " . . .Don't worry. I'm sure he won't do anything mindless. " She said, squeezing my hand.

" Or. . .at least I hope not. . . "

I looked in between the small cluster of nurses, golden locks catching my eye, making my way over.

" . . .and then they took it away! " I heard the troublemaker's fake whine in the middle of the group. I made my presence known by clearing my throat obnoxiously, the nurses turning around to face my direction.

" I need to speak to Nurse Morgan immediately. " They all rushed to her side, blocking her from my view.

" What do you want from her?! You've already hurt her to a major extent! " One of her friends snapped at me. I shook my head in disbelief.

" That's hilarious. Now get out of my way. " I pushed in between them, Pearl looking at me with frightened eyes, her friends shielding her from me. " We need to speak. " I started calmly, but she vigorously shook her head.

" No! Why would I ever speak to you after what you and that dreaded woman have done to me?! " She exclaimed.

" We can either speak one on one, or I can embarrass you in front of all of your 'friends' here. It's your choice, Goldilocks. " I attempted to keep my cool as she rolled her eyes.

" Like you're going to do anything. What are you going to say that's so, quote on quote, "embarrassing"? " She mocked me.

" Well. " I reached into my coat pocket, pulling out a small, folded paper. " I can tell you all about how Nurse Morgan here has attempted murder. " Her eyes widened quickly as her friends gasped and began to chatter within themselves.

" I- I don't know what you're talking about!- " She insisted.

" There's no point in lying. I already have all the proof I need to prove you guilty once more. " I commented.

" I- I still don't know what you're talking about. " She lied again. I sighed.

" I'm going to ask you one. More. Time. I'm giving you one more chance to tell me the truth. Again, there is no point in lying, due to the fact that the outcome will be the same either way. So, what will it be? Will you tell the honest truth, or postpone it until you have to explain to everyone why you have been fired in the future? " She glared at me, silent.
