My eyes fluttered open, the room I was in engulfed in orange streams of color. Wait. . .was it morning?! My vision adjusted as my memory came flooding back. Had I fallen asleep in the Captain's office?! I drowsily messed with the blanket that had somehow gotten on me, the door opening.
" Well, someone's awake. " A familiar face entered the room, holding two cups and a brown paper bag.
" Captain?! I'm so sorry, I'll be on my way- " He shook his head, placing the things on the table and ushering me to sit back down.
" That's pointless. I told your boss you'll come in a bit late today. That we were discussing important matters late into the night and you needed some rest. " He said as I sat down, bringing the cup, recognizing that it was tea, to my lips.
" . . .Thank you. " I whispered. " . . .Did you turn in the slip? " I asked. He nodded, opening the paper bag and handing me a couple of biscuits.
" I came back to find you on the table, fast asleep. I didn't want to disturb you. . .so I let you stay. " He said. " . . .Once you're done, you can be off. I have work to do. " He said, sipping his tea. I tried to finish as fast as I could, folding the blanket I was given and walking to the door. " . . .Hey. " The captain called out to me. I turned around to face him. " They're going to inform me when your meeting is scheduled, so I'll let you know the date a week beforehand. " He said. I nodded.
" Thanks again! " I waved, walking out.
I wouldn't have thought that a random idea of mine would have the potential to become something that could greatly impact the future.

When I entered the office, Emmeline rushed over to me.
" Tiffany! I was so worried about you! I couldn't find you at closing time, and I was worried you ran off somewhere!! Where have you been?! " She yelped as she clung to my uniform.
" I'm sorry, Emme. I didn't mean to worry you. I've been filing things about something I was working on. " Curiosity burned in her eyes.
" What have you been working on. . .? " She asked.
" A small idea to help organize things around here. " I stated, walking over to Hange's cot. Before Emmeline could give her response, Hange's face lit up as she saw me.
" How did it go?! Did he help you file a meeting or what?! " Her enthusiasm made her injuries go unnoticed.
" Yes, actually. He even helped me file and organize my thoughts on the procedures and stuff. " She beamed in excitement.
" Who helped you? " Emmeline interjected.
" The Captain. " I replied, her eyes widening.
" You mean Captain Levi?! He helped you with your project?! " She almost shook me to death.
" Yes yes who else?! " I laughed.
" That's crazy! I'm so jealous! " She patted me on the back. . .almost a little too hard.
" So is that why you came in late for work today? " Hange smirked.
" Well. . .sort of yea. We stayed up during the night filing and documenting things. " I subconsciously rubbed my eyes.
" That sounds tiring. " Emmeline sighed as I sat down.
" When's the meeting gonna take place? " Hange asked.
" We're not sure. " I replied. " The Captain just filled out the slip last night, so we might not get a word for awhile. " I sighed. It was true. Although the Captain's name on the form made it stand out, the association board may not even have time to schedule a meeting within the next month.
