I hesitated, a vivid image of the Captain crossing my mind. It was almost as if I had returned to the clinic momentarily, just to admire his features once more. . .

Dark hair.

Blue-grey eyes.

I felt myself space out, my eyes subconsciously focused on the hardwood floor. . .

" So someone has taken your heart, I reckon. "

I snapped back and shook my head vigorously in protest. " I- No! I-. . .It's just- Emmeline asked me thing same thing when I left for here! Haha- " I felt my skin run cold with embarrassment. My father narrowed his eyes at me. Terrance's posture had straightened, despite the fact he was childishly seated on the floor.

" What?! I swear! " I squeaked. Before my father could respond, my mother entered the living room, saving me with the announcement of lunch being served.

" Just as long as you don't fall in love with a soldier boy, young lady, let alone one from the Scouting Legion. "

A mix of emotions plagued my heart and mind as I did my best to attempt to distract my father from the topic of love. Subjects such as the classification system, meeting new acquaintances, and other excuses for a distraction crossed my mind. Before we knew it, the sun had set, and it was time for our family to depart for rest.

. . .

Sitting at my old vanity and combing my hair, I pondered on why exactly the Captain crossed my mind at the asking if I had a lover. It's not like I had a special affiliation with him. . .

" I'm pretty sure Levi's grown fond of you. "

" I highly doubt that. . ." I muttered under my breath as I braided my hair. I was more than positive that the Captain was only acting chivalrous. But. . .Hange did say he acted quite differently within my presence. I groaned out of frustration, shoving my hair over my shoulder. Just then, I heard a knock on my door, groggily allowing the person to enter the room.

" Hey. . ." I heard Terrance's voice, the door closing behind him.

" Hm? " I turned to face him.

" Just wanted to say goodnight. " He came over and hugged me from behind, putting his chin on my shoulder. I leaned against him affectionately as he watched me in the mirror's reflection. " Is. . .everything okay? " He asked, letting me go.

" Mhm. . .why do you ask? " I got up from my seat, going over to my bed. Terrance sat next to me.

" I dunno. . .you seem. . .stressed. " He had picked up on my irritant emotions.

" I- Well. . .to be honest with you. . .I have been quite stressed lately. " I sighed.

" Figured. Is everything okay?. . .like, actually? " He asked again.

" For the most part. . .but there has been some things bothering me lately. " I confessed.

" I'm listening. " Terrance leaned against the wall, his eyes curious.

" It's little things, Terrance. Don't worry. " I reassured his worried aura.

" If it was so little, you wouldn't be stressed, Tiffy. " He pointed out.

" . . .fine. . .ya got me. " I playfully pinched his cheek, laughing. " Well. " I layed back in my bed. " There were some things I didn't tell mom and dad. . .like I just recovered from being poisoned. " Terrance's eyes widened. " Shh! " I yelped. " You can't tell anyone! " I whispered harshly, pinching his lips together. He nodded. " I might go to another court trial because of said poisoning. " His jaw dropped. " Wanna guess who did it? "
