The Newcomer

Chapter 8

"Gregory Davies where are you going with those books?", Mr. Tife the physics teacher asked him. "Ehm...Ehm...sir..." And when Mr. Tife least expected, Gregory started running. Mr. Tife tried calling him but he refused to answer, so Mr. Tife had no choice but to pursue him. (Thank Goodness Mr. Tife is fit and he exercises everyday before coming to school). He finally caught up with Gregory, he pinned him down and quickly snatched the books away from his hands. Both were panting and gasping for breath.
  "I won't take you to the principal's office yet, I will first interrogate you and know what happened if only you will corporate with me", Mr. Tife said and Gregory raised his hands up surrendering to him.
 
  In the Classroom...
     "Hey science's boy, why are you so restless?", Gboyega asked Inumidun. "Nothing. Just feeling a bit nervous for nothing", Inumidun replied giving him a wry smile. "I can't believe what you said just now 'cause you look so disturbed", Gboyega said to him. "I said nothing is wrong with me, just try to mind your business", Inumidun said harshly.
"If you say so". Gboyega answered and left his side immediately.
 
  At Mr. Tife's Office
    "So tell me what you wanted to do with this books?" Mr. Tife asked him.
"I'm do anything with it, I just wanted to give it to my friend who needs it urgently" he replied. Mr. Tife knows that he is lying and his face shows it. He can read people's mind a lot(That is his own special gift from God), he knows that Greg will deny it so he just decided to remain calm with him.
"Who are you fooling?", Mr.Tife asked him bringing out a long dusty cane at the back of his desk. He blew the dust but still looking at Greg who is trying to prove stubborn. "I repeat what do you want to use the books to do?", Mr. Tife asked him again. "Sir, I said nothing", Gregory replied calmly.
Mr. Tife looked at him before walking towards him but still looking at him intently, he could see the fear in his eyes as he got closer to him.
"I'm not beating you at all, I only used the cane to scare you for you to speak out but I can see you are very stubborn but I know what to do to you", Mr. Tife said to him giving a mischievous smile. "What will you do?", Gregory asked still proving a straight face.
"I will embarrass you and say things you don't want people to know and hear about you. And remember I'm your teacher, I can easily get your details", Mr. Tife said smiling. Gregory was looking so defeated and he said "I'll open up".
