Chapter 16

On Thursday...

Dedun and Dele got to school the next day before parting ways to each of their class. She got upstairs and as usual, students will be at the corridor either gisting or playing. Some girls will be in group either gossiping about their classmates or talking about one boy or the other that likes them or that they like or any guy who woo them.
Some jobless boys will also be talking about the girls that is beautiful, or any girl that they are after. While few students that like trouble will be calling or disturbing any passerby and they will quickly hide before the person sees their faces.
In the class too, any student that remains will be eating their break time food, and be discussing issues of the class or their assignment or about anything that recently happened in the country or even film they watched, they discuss with the people that are not eating or are less busy.
Also, some students will be copying assignment from each other but none of this activities interested Dedun.

She got to her class door, breathed in and out before entering. She was happy that her partner had not come.
"At least he won't add to my troubles" , she thought. She greeted her classmates coldly, and when her friends sighted her, they came to meet her.
"Babes, did you tell your parents about it?", Ife asked immediately.
"No, but don't bite me because I will tell you the reasons", she quickly snapped. "So what's the reason o", Iyanu asked.

"My mum wasn't around, she was on Night shift and I can't tell my dad about it, he won't believe me at all. I know him too well, he will think I'm creating images in my head or it may be as a result of a novel that is scary that I must have read that is causing it", she said to them soberly.
"Na you sabi (that's your own), we have sha talk our own", Iyanu said before leaving the class.

"What's wrong with her, is she making me feel guilty for telling you guys?", Dedun asked Ifeoma and Tolu quite surprised.
"That's how she behaves, you just have to be patient with her", Ife said.
"Ahh! Patient you say, let me tell you the truth, I wasn't in support of you taking her as our friend but it is you that know why o", Tolu interjected.
"Same with me", Ife agreed.
"I will try talking to her but if she refuses to answer, I guess we will just have to break the relationship because sometimes her behavior is always pissing me off", she said to them conclusively.
"You better do before it is too late", Tolu and Ife said to her at the same time. "Chilax", Dedun assured.
"We hear you", Ife replied. Then, her and Tolu left Dedun seat for their own.
