I stood by my window looking out into the stars wondering what to do. I had already told them everything I know, but it was important for me to explain things to Nee and tell her my secret. I heard my phone ring and glanced at it.
"Well, speak of the devil." I answered it in my usual way, far too chipper for it being so early she would say.
"Hi, sorry to be calling you so early...or late, or however you want to look at it," she replied.
"No big. That's what besties are for."
"Well, I had this dream and now I'm at my spot near the woods. I called Ali to help me. We're going to try and track down Jace. I have a feeling he may try and impregnate some other girl for his cause."
"Some other girl? Oh no he didn't! Want me to beat him down?"
I heard her chuckle. "No. Just meet me here. I could use some support."
"Yeah, that's not really Ali's strong suit is it?"
"She can be supportive...ish."
My turn to laugh. "I'll be there soon, good buddy."
It was time.
