The Rise of The Animal Defense Force

No One Mourns the Wizard

It had been two years since the Animal Rights Defense Force overthrew the Wizard. Everyone in the Emerald City was out in the square dancing and singing. The Animal Rights Defense Force were wearing their dress uniforms and wielding their weapons, protecting the castle.
"GOOD NEWS, HE'S DEAD!
THE WIZARD OF OZ IS DEAD!
THE  PHONIEST WIZARD THERE EVER WAS,
THE ENEMY OF ALL OF US HERE IN OZ,
IS DEAD! GOOD NEWS! GOOD NEWS!"

A few seconds later, Glinda floated in on her bubble, while Elphaba walked out onto the square to make their speeches. At that, the Animal Rights Defense Force snapped to attention. Elphaba began to speak. "Fellow Ozians, let us be grateful that goodness can subdue. The wicked workings of you know who have been overthrown once and for all! Good will always conquer evil." At that, there was a great cheer from the audience. One of the Ozians then spoke up. "Glinda, exactly how dead is he?" Well, there has been much rumor and speculation... innuendo, outuendo..." At that, two of the soldiers snickered quietly enough so that they wouldn't be heard. Glinda didn't notice and kept on speaking. "Let me set the record straight. According to the Time Dragon Clock, the death occurred at the 13th hour, a direct result of multiple magic strikes to the head. Yes, the Wizard of Oz is dead.

A random Ozian began to sing. "NO ONE MOURNS THE WIZARD! Another Ozian then interjected. "NO ONE CRIES THEY WON'T RETURN! NO ONE LAYS A LILY ON THEIR GRAVE!" Everyone then began to sing. "THROUGH THEIR LIVES OUR CHILDREN LEARN!" AND GOODNESS KNOWS
THE WICKEDS' LIVES ARE LONELY
GOODNESS KNOWS
THE WICKED DIE ALONE
IT JUST SHOWS WHEN YOU'RE WICKED
YOU'RE LEFT ONLY
ON YOUR OWN.
YES, GOODNESS KNOWS

NOTHING GROWS FOR THE WICKED
THEY REAP ONLY
WHAT THEY'VE SEWN!

As the song died down, one of the soldiers stepped forward to Elphaba. "Your highness, why does wickedness happen?" Elphaba turned towards them. "That's a good question; one that many people find perplexing. Are people born wicked,
or do they have wickedness thrust upon them? After all, he had a childhood, and he was next in line to be the Wizard."

The Wizards' parents entered the room. Prospero was preparing to leave on a business trip, while Ariadne was going to stay behind. "Ariadne, my love, I don't want to leave you behind." He said, sighing sadly. "It's okay, it's just for a night. You'll be back by the morning." "You're right, I'll see you soon." Prospero replied. He then kissed Ariadne on the cheek and left, closing the door behind him. A few minutes later, Ariadne's lover Wendell knocked on the door. Ariadne smiled to herself and let him in.  Elphaba then interjected "This family had a deep, dark secret."  Wendell then gave Ariadne a drink, while seducing her to sleep with him. He had given her red wine. After a few sips, both of them laid down on the bed.  Elphaba then continued the story. "The Wizard was born perfectly normal, but as he was being raised, he was taught to be corrupt, hating all animals and people. He was also told that deceiving people and forcing them to submit to his every will was acceptable when ruling over a city." At this, the Animal Rights Defense Force shook their head in disgust. The Ozians began to sing again. "NO ONE MOURNS THE WIZARD!
NOW AT LAST, HE'S DEAD AND GONE!
NOW AT LAST THERE'S JOY THROUGHOUT THE LAND!
AND GOODNESS KNOWS (GOODNESS KNOWS)
WE KNOW WHAT GOODNESS IS (OOOOHHHH)
GOODNESS KNOWS, THE WICKED DIE ALONE (HE DIED ALONE)
WOE TO THOSE (WOE TO THOSE)
WHO SPURN WHAT GOODNESSES THEY ARE SHOWN!
NO ONE MOURNS THE WIZARD (GOOD NEWS)
NO ONE MOURNS THE WIZARD (GOOD NEWS)
NO ONE MOURNS... THE WIZARD...
WIZARD...
WIZARD!!!!!" Glinda and Elphaba realized they had duties to attend to, but one of the citizens had one last question for Elphaba. "Your highness, was it true that you wanted to work for him one day?" Elphaba hesitated. "Well... yes. I was at school and I practiced sorcery hard enough to get noticed by him. It was a while ago and both Glinda and I were very young. We didn't know what we were getting ourselves into."
