Chapter 2 // Apollo
"I think I'd rather be back in prison." Aidan groans next to me as we walk across the campus to our lecture.
"You're seriously lucky they let you back here, Aidan. Just stay on your best behaviour." I tell him. He's my only friend and even though he's crazy as fuck, I do really care about him.
"I know, I'm sorry." He pats my back and goes back to gawking at any girl he can lay his eyes on — I roll my eyes.
I scope around the area as we walk, but I suddenly freeze when my eyes land on familiar curly hair. Blue's curly hair. She's typing on her laptop as she sits cross-legged on a bench, a small frown on her pretty face as she stares closely at the screen, squinting her eyes slightly. Today she's clad in another tracksuit, however this time it's all black. Her fingers are covered in gold rings and I watch closely as she reaches her thumb up to her mouth and nibbles on her acrylic nail.
"And you have a go at me for staring at girls. You're just as fucking bad." Aidan nudges me with a mischievous smile on his face as he runs his hands through his brown hair. "I'll know to keep my hands off her." He winks, and I roll my eyes.
But yeah. He should know to keep his hands off of Blue.
"Bro, did you get a girlfriend while I was in a prison cell?!" Aidan jumps in front of my path and looks at me with wide eyes. "Blue Ellis?!" I furrow my eyebrows and clench my jaw.
How the fuck does he know Blue?!
"Come on, Apollo. I've been in prison and even I knew about the new student. You need to climb out of that hole you've been digging yourself in." I bite down on the insides of my cheeks, my eyes falling back onto Blue.
She's on her own and all I want to do is sit next to her and ask her how she is and how her day is going. I want to hear her soft voice again and get lost in her beautiful brown eyes. Plus, the cosy look she has makes me crave a hug from her — badly.
"There's a party tonight. You coming?" I blink, reluctantly look away from Blue, and glance back at my best friend.
"Huh?"
"There's a party tonight. Are. You. Coming?" He says each word slowly and I shove him lightly. "Look, I'm not forcing you, you don't wanna go. That's fine. But I really think you need to let loose."
Will Blue be there?
"Am I speaking to a brick wall?" I blink again.
"Sorry. Yeah, I'll go." I nod and a massive grin etches onto his face.
We carry on our walk and I turn my head back to Blue, who is now sitting with another brown-skinned girl. They both have smiles on their face as they look at Blue's computer and it's almost as if Blue can feel me staring because her eyes look over the screen of her laptop and land on me.
Shit
I whip my head back, losing my balance, and bump into Aidan.
"Should I be worried about you?" He furrows his eyebrows, and I give him a small smile and shake my head.
"Don't think so." I shrug and give one last glance to Blue, who is whispering something in her friend's ear. I look at her wide-eyed friend and wonder what Blue is telling her.
I bump into Aidan again.
"Respectfully, Apollo, I'll punch the fuck out of you if you do that again." I look at my best friend, who is a couple inches shorter than me, and raise my eyebrows. "Are you two fucking or something? You keep staring at her." My eyes widen and I shake my head.
