Chapter 3 // Apollo
I'm back at the library. It's late at night and my eyes are struggling to concentrate on the words in front of me. My mind is a blur as a certain girl fills my senses, making me go crazy.
It's been a week since the party and I haven't spoken to Blue. I've been at the library every night since. Blue has been here many times herself but hasn't spoken to me, much to my disappointment. I think she's becoming the main reason I come to this place. We've exchanged looks twice, but none of us has built the courage to say a word to one another.
Well, until now.
Speak of the Angel and she shall appear.
"Hey stranger."
I look up and smile up at Blue, who takes a seat in front of me.
"Hi." I nod, observing her body language. She's tense. "You okay?" I question her, raising my eyebrows. Blue shrugs her shoulders and nibbles on her bottom lip. My eyes fall to her plump, glossy lips and I swallow hard before looking back into her deep brown eyes.
"You're always in here." She whispers, trying not to be so loud in the hushed library.
"So are you." I point out, and she laughs gently, looking down at the dark wooden table. "Blue, has something happened? Is it that guy from the party?" I suddenly question because even though I've only known her for a short amount of time, I can tell something has upset her.
"Cameron. He's my stepbrother, and he's an absolute prick." She runs her hands down her face and stares at me with tired eyes. "I like to come here because it helps me think, and it's nice and quiet."
Now all I want to do is murder her stepbrother for upsetting her.
"Apollo?" Fuck the way she says my name has my heart going into a spiral.
"Mmm." I hum as she plays with the loose thread on her baby pink oversized jumper.
"Did you want to go out and get something to eat? My little brother is having a play date with our neighbour across the road and stupidly enough, I'm jealous of them." I'm surprised by her question. She wants to go out and get food with me! "Of course, if you're busy that's fi—"
"Yes." I cut her off and my face automatically heats. To avoid eye contact with her, I start to pack away my things and stand up from my chair.
Blue is still sitting down, and she gazes up at me with warm eyes. Fuck, don't look at me like that, sweetheart.
"You coming?" I raise my eyebrows and she blinks, nods, then stands up. I'm very tempted to grab hold of her hand and pull her close to my side, but then she would probably run for the hills and never speak to me again.
"Did you drive?" I nod my head and lead her out of the library and towards my black Audi that sits in the empty car park. As we're walking towards it, Blue freezes, and I instantly begin to panic.
"What is it?" I step in front of her and crouch down slightly so I'm eye-level with her.
"That's your car?" I furrow my eyebrows and nod my head.
She doesn't like my car?
My lip pouts slightly.
"I see that car in the drive across my house." She whispers in shock and realisation hits me.
Is Blue my neighbour?!
"We're neighbours?" I blurt out, my eyes also widening in shock.
"Do you have a sister named Arabella?" My mouth falls open in shock.
